Enforcement is what we want to see.

Burob:
That is the work of the states, & local governments.
I laugh when I see comments as these.

Just playing smart by half.

Do states have the power?

One call from Abuja and the Police, Army will stand down.

First step is create a state police force then we can start the conversation.

So for now, the federal government is the one to enforce it if they're being honest and serious.

Open grazing has long being abolished in Nigeria since the 1950s. In 1965 particularly, express grazing routes were created all across the north and also Oyo and Ogun states. Any herder who deviated from these routes and encroached on land belonging to farmers was prosecuted.
It is sad that those routes got abandoned and encroached on. But as at that time, Nigeria has less than 4 million cattle. Compared to now that we have over 45 million cattle and a larger population.

Some Nigerian laws are only existing in the written or electric form and even the judges will turn blind eyes when it is time to apply them. I won't be surprised if this issue of open grazing becomes follows the pattern

Open cattle grazing is a a wing of terrorism in Nigeria but not the ROOT. Whenever Nigeria government is ready to tell themselves the truth, then they should start with Nnamdi Kanu, Boko Haram, Herds-terrorists and their sponsors in the government period.

Nigeria don't have cattle now. Not even one. It's individuals who own cattle and should be responsible for sustaining the herd.

HOW IS THIS A GREAT NEWShuh

Open cattle grazing is a a wing of terrorism in Nigeria but not the ROOT. Whenever Nigeria government is ready to tell themselves the truth, then they should start with Nnamdi Kanu, Boko Haram, Herds-terrorists and their sponsors in the government period.
The historically friendly, reserved and innocent nomadic "cattle herdsmen" of the Nigerian landscape have evolved over the past few years to become the intelligence arm of the Islamist terror and kidnapping network that is currently infesting Nigeria. The herdsmen know every bush road, every church, every school and every residence in rural Nigeria, from the desert-fringe northern states, to the churning waves of the Atlantic Ocean in the south. That memorized geography of Nigeria's hinterland is then passed on to terrorist gangs now intent on dragging the nation of Nigeria into the flames of open warfare.

The zero-tolerance attitude that Ghana has implemented to repulse land-grabbing, crop-stealing Fulani herdsmen from Ghanaian territory must be emulated by the Nigerian government as a template upon which the architecture of lasting peace can FINALLY be constructed in Nigeria. If this newly announced federal directive to halt free roaming cattle in Nigeria is TRULY going into effect, then all means of ENFORCING this new law, from surveillance and ground attack drones, to special forces strike teams, must be placed at the ready for action.

His Excellency President Bola Tinubu has proven himself to be a thinking and fearless leader with an eye on the future, who has finally taken the bull by the horns to curb the anarchic impunity with which numerous Islamist and cattle-herding terror groups have migrated into Nigeria to wreak mayhem. The recently pledged US military intelligence assistance that is now in the pipeline for Nigeria hints at further political masterstrokes bearing the Tinubu hallmark.

Thanks President Tinubu

Each state governor should implement it to the letter.

Waiting for Miyetti Allah, Atiku and Peter Obi to react negatively as usual.
