Nigeria needs a stringent law that compels all recruiters who published their openings in public domain to give feedback to all applicants.

It's irresponsible for a recruiter or employer to make applicants twerk their CV and cover letter to suit a vacancy and still get ignored after applying for that position.

People who ignore such applicants should be liable to 3 years imprisonment or a fine of 1 million paid to the applicant.

That's is not truth.. The testimony motivate other job seeker not to give up all hope.. I got a very good job through LinkedIn .. I didn't even apply but the HR contact me about the job.

Even here on nairaland some of the recruiters are glory/star stealers and they are majorly on the island.

Job seekers should be very careful when going for interviews. Mind the chair you sit on, car you enter, food and drink you eat and do not send any photo of yourself before going.

Be wise like a serpent and gentle as a dove.

Word Recruiters does not exist in Nigeria hence why website like that doesn't work.

I have also observed something with some job posts. A job vacant that is no available is what some HR are posting.

Most of them post these fake jobs on purpose mostly to gather information, they don't even go through people's resume, I remember learning new skills meticulously and paying so much on udemy and coursera during the remote job era, applied to thousands of jobs on remote job websites, LinkedIn, upwork, hub staff talent etc, I didn't get one, I even lowered my standards, at the end of the day I begrudged myself for the time wasted and how much I lowered my standards cuz at that point I was ready to take any job even if it's those ones you'll be a slave to your employer, and thanks to earning online, I haven't submitted a single resume for more than four years now, no be me they go carry form their feeling of self importance, the best thing you can do is look for something that earning with won't depend on someone hiring you, nothing is sweeter than earning on your own and being your own boss, they'll post a thousand job na only 50 real inside.

I would never understand why Nigerian recruiters don't declare salary on the job posting but will declare very long JDs. Almost left for them to include KPIs.

Some will tell you it's becasei3 salary is negotiable. Which is BS. Any reputable or standard prganisation already have salary scale, hence they know what they will pay.

I actually had to delete my previous LinkedIn account and wait the full 14-day window before they finally approved my email for a new one.

I didn’t do it on impulse. I was genuinely tired of the madness on that platform. The noise, the fake motivational culture, the constant pressure to perform…it became mentally exhausting. Logging in started to feel like a chore instead of a professional space.

So with the new account, I decided to be intentional. I used Apify to generate targeted leads in my field. CEOs, founders, decision makers, the right audience for what I do. I followed them, and some followed back. Others didn’t, which is fine.

The important thing is, my feed is finally clean, my updates are structured around my niche, and I’m actually engaging with content that matters to me. Anyone who is tired of the madness going on in LinkedIn can do the same.

That's true sha. Even in interviews, they should get back to all interviewed on the outcome. Only few orgs were doing so.

No wonder LinkedIn had to remove some 2 million Nigerians from their site, some aren't even real HR specialists but just scammers trying to use the medium to get personal details of people.
Be careful who you send your cv or company profile to online, this applies to sites to claim to support contractors and consultants.

People are using the data gathered to resell to others who may be criminals with dubious intent.

Sadly LinkedIn isnt what it used to be it is fast becoming like tiktok where people post all sorts of rubbish, and work environment is not a porn hub or space where you display rubbish.

Scammers have used personal information on cvs and profiles to defraud people, some out of desperation have sent sensitive company information to scammers on LinkedIn.

majority are not they knew people are so much in need of employment,some are working assive they aren't because their salary is nothing

The number of fake jobs and HRs is just too much. It's usually the work of Nigerians, Indians, Pakistanis and other Asian nationalities.

Also, humblebrags are another set of nuisances, it's just too much. It's only on LinkedIn that everyone is successful and attended high-end institutions. While reality is much different.

LinkedIn used to be a platform to get good jobs. But right now, it's full of individuals that give themselves worthless endorsements and skills. Though their intent is to get a juicier job. These days, just maintain a LinkedIn profile so a recruiter can easily know your job and professional history.

LinkedIn is well aware of all those things and to open a new LinkedIn account from Nigeria is now really hard.

I am sure you are referring to Facebook. In my 10+ years of using Linkedin I have never seen a job post that says "Comment 'Interested' and I'll check your profile."
