He suffered palpitation three days before his death and was on BP medication which he did not take on Sunday- actor recounts last hours of Nollywood actor Odira Nwobu before his sudden demise in South Africa

Actor Daddy Billy has recounted his last moment with his colleague, Odira Nwobu, who passed away in South Africa in the early hours of Monday, November 24.

In a video recorded and shared on social media, Billy said

‘’It is unfortunate that he struggled for his life. Three days ago, Odira had that attack where the heart was beating so fast that you can see it, He was taken to the pharmacy and the BP was checked and it was about 171. The pharmacist was shocked and said he was lucky and that if he had wasted time, he would have been gone. It is either you would have had a stroke or you would have been gone.

So that pharmacist explained and gave him some medication. Now Odira was taken the medication and became stable. On Sunday, he out. Somewhere along the line, he did not take the BP tablet. From in the evening, he started complaining about weakness. When we went out and walked for a little bit, he said ‘’no I and tired I can't walk for too long but nobody was getting that sign..Nobody could say Odira where is your tablet. It escaped everyone's mind.

At a time he said I don't think I need to continue, I want to go home. We kept moving until we went to a club. It was fun. He also posted videos. He was okay. From there, everyone said goodbye, back to his apartment. We now got another call that Odira's heart is beating fast again. From beating fast again, he was gone''

Billy said an autopsy has been carried out and that the result is being awaited.

Life's indeed a mystery, It is well.

He was lucky to escape the first time and was giving drugs he needs to be taking. Apart from taking the drugs, does he need to go out so soon. Somebody that should be at home resting and taking his drugs for some week or even weeks.
Anyways, something must kill a man. He RIP

Too many things wrong:

1. How long did he go undiagnosed with hypertension?
2. Should a pharmacist be the one prescribing medications? Some bp medications can increase the risk of heart attack.
3. He should have avoided alcohol.

His health is his responsibility. Nigeria does not have emergency medical services so it is understandable that his friends didn't contemplate calling for one. Just ignorance. Ambulances in Nigeria are only good for carrying corpses in caskets not for emergency rescue. Nigeria indirectly happened to him.

The pharmacist actually is to be blamed. How can he start medication on someone he does not know their medical history or done a comprehensive assessment on. Not all medication is appropriate for every individual patient. Also, certain conditions need close monitoring when medication is prescribed. You don’t just give medication and let the patient go like that.

Person wey know say e get BP dey go club even when the sign been dey show for road as e dey waka. Oga Daddy Billy you never talk truth. Una see say him get BP una still allow am make e follow una go club. Wetin do hospital? Because the sign slow down him go flex for club forget say e get medical condition then still,may be cari banny go house go knack am wotowoto from there meet him ancestors. Pharmacists don enter trouble giving medication without doctors prescription, sha he is a Nigerian another writeoff by the SA hate crew.
