Is UK that bad? Why are alot of comments condemning his move...I don't understand
Don't mind them. If Nigeria is so good for the people condemning the move, why don't they have the 60 million the man has?
Re: Nigerian Man Sells His House In Lagos For N60m, Relocates To UK by yemre: 5:45pm On Nov 26, 2025
Well, nobody should blame the man for selling off his house to relocate to UK. You people are looking at this from your own perspective but his own perspective is quite different. Remember he has two kids whom he must give a good life and foundation if he must remain happy till his old age.

Trust me, it's not a mistake, particularly because of those kids. Look at our elites, the first thing they do is ensure their children are out of this country early in order to secure their future. So, the man is not thinking about himself alone. Besides, you people don't even know if he has other houses or have an idea of the leverage he has or relying on.

So, stop judging.

Although, if I'm to put myself in his shoes, I would prefer to use such a house as collateral to get a loan and also put it up for rent or lease, then relocate to a place like Canada or Australia. That way, of course I would pay more because of the accruing interest, but I would relocate and still preserve my property because it will sure keep appreciating in value. Should I have a need to come back, I would still have a place to stay.

He sold a house that would have worth 150m in 3 to 5 years for 60m to relocate to UK of all places.
He will soon understand life in UK. Truly, some people are born to suffer.
You and madridguy are just seeking for attention.
If the man gets a job quick, in three years, he must have made N60 million.
Remember that Naira has been bastsrdised by APC to N1951 to 1 GBP.

I used to talk like u but listen to yourself and see how the country is tilting towards anarchy.

People just get killed at will. The rate of ritual killings, armed robbery, banditry,Bokoharam,Iswap and bad politicians making everyday tough for many people.

Since this govt came in,many people went from being average to poverty and many are still being plunged into bigger financial troubles as a result of bad policies.

Let them go and ease off.
When you get there you will know the difference between peace of mind and suffering.

When you warn people before travelling, most will not listen.

They think Oyinbo streets are paved with gold. His kids would suffer the most as they will now go to their State schools filled with lots of bad boys and bullies. They won't be attending private schools there. They are going from having their own rooms to the entire family sharing a room, and in a rough neighbourhood.
It depends sha

At 700k a month, your standard of living would still be better than his.

There's nothing wrong in travelling, but do your homework first.

My younger sister wants to to travel desperately to the UK.

Her husband refused. He said he isn't ready to start cleaning someone's poo. He has a middle class job and my sister as well. She works for a bank. It would be a downgrade.
This is inaccurate sha

And ur sister husband will eventually regret that decision

Esp when the kids of those who left converge with those who were left behind
The difference will be so clear, make una no worry

I was in the UK in 2014 and 2020. I actually came back two days before the British Lockdown was to commence.

I know very well what I am saying.

Have you left the shores of this country before?

Let's even leave all these aside. In the UK, 95 out of every 100 are employed. In Canada, 93 out of every 100 are employed.

For my area in Lagos, just about 6 out of every 100 are firmly employed. Some are packaging, some are expert beggars, some are anything goes hustlers, some rely on Japa family remittance, some na church everyday, some na outright scammers. O pari.

This is not true ooo... U can't live in the UK with 2 kids in one room...

But this same thing happened to my guy..

He moved to the UK, Ireland specifically, and sold his house in lag... He he has three kids ND rented an apartment, a flat, the rent was very high ND he went for a mortgage instead, the calculations was 32 years at his income rate with his wife.... So he sold the house to bring it closer to 11 years..

Now, abroad wife don enter the wife.. sh has started misbehaving, he is so confused cus his pay alone can't foot the bill of the household and still pay mortgage...

Guy is now lean ND full of marital complaints
