I would put it in Treasury Bills or borrow it to different loan apps. I only survive with the interest which is 15% each year. So each year I get ₦9m

I am not extravagant. ₦700k a month is more than enough (especially as no transportion cost to work)... Of course, if their is any small side-hustle, I would invest wisely. Lay back and relax.
Sadly Nigerians are set in their ways , even if you decide to teach people for free how to make these type of investments you listed , they will still choose to japa with that sum of money.

I have a friend who was in Canada, sold his late dads farm assets up to 150m , left his family in Canada, but stayed back in nigeria to build financial assets and keeps shouting how glad he is that he took that decision. The guy is making bank monthly.

At 700k a month, your standard of living would still be better than his.

There's nothing wrong in travelling, but do your homework first.

My younger sister wants to to travel desperately to the UK.

Her husband refused. He said he isn't ready to start cleaning someone's poo. He has a middle class job and my sister as well. She works for a bank. It would be a downgrade.
don’t mind them. A lot of people are so ignorant and don’t do their research before travelling. My immediate younger sister as also been in the Uk with her hubby for 7yrs now. Though they are doing good for themselves because they now own their own house but she is still complaining about the harsh reality of living in the Uk as a migrant and how govt policy is now even making so difficult for them because the taxes are so draining and it’s just seem you are working for the Uk govt to better their economy because their economy is more dependent on tax. She share a lot of stories of people who left decent jobs here in Nigeria for uncertainty and some still paying the money they borrowed from people in Nigeria before they left…most of the developed world are now making tougher migration policies just to discourage migration. Just like some people rightly mentioned, anyone planning to migrate now should do a thorough research about the country he/she is migrating to and also importantly, you must have skills in a certain field that will earn you a job. Most of them who failed to do this are living with regret and are ashamed to return home.

This is not a wise decision at all.We don't pray for bad things to happen but what if anything bad happens over there and he has to be back in Nigeria?
There is no problem in relocating but selling your life saving properties is not worth it like that

When will you guys ever take responsibility? Someone took decision on his own but here you are already blaming another person. Are you trying to say people just started traveling abroad for greener pasture today?

There are thousands of Nigerians abroad who are quietly growing their financial portfolio in Nigeria without having to touch it for several years. Nigerians are smarter than kids here think.

The person that sold N60m property may have sold other assets and made some key investments while exploring the abroad option. We may not have the full story.

In as much as I am not really in support of his decision, I must say it is his personal decision. Na him sabi. Meanwhile, what will be the worth of the 150M you just quoted up there in 3 years' time?

This is not true ooo... U can't live in the UK with 2 kids in one room...

But this same thing happened to my guy..

He moved to the UK, Ireland specifically, and sold his house in lag... He he has three kids ND rented an apartment, a flat, the rent was very high ND he went for a mortgage instead, the calculations was 32 years at his income rate with his wife.... So he sold the house to bring it closer to 11 years..

Now, abroad wife don enter the wife.. sh has started misbehaving, he is so confused cus his pay alone can't foot the bill of the household and still pay mortgage...

Guy is now lean ND full of marital complaints
You are bringing it home. Your spouse supporting is key over there.

That guy will be targeting sponsorship while schooling. It wont be rosy now but will worth it in the long run.

Far right parties and movements are growing in all of Europe. Europeans are tired and angry about mass immigration to their countries. They are blaming their govt for open border and it's even worse in the UK.

If care is not taken, there may be an out break of civil war in the UK in less than 5yrs from now. The locals are mad about the influx of Pakistanis, Indians, Arabs and Africans destroying their cities, culture and heritage.

I pity Africans left in that UK, when the evitable crisis will break out.

I was in the UK in 2014 and 2020. I actually came back two days before the British Lockdown was to commence.

I know very well what I am saying.

Have you left the shores of this country before?
I actually live in Britain
and used to be a professional in Nigeria

And I also know what I am saying

15 years from now, everybody eye will clear, esp if current trend holds

When his mates were fleeing in the late 80s into 90s, my adamant Dad kept us hostage in Nigeria

We were doing fine enough, but decades down the line, comparing us who stayed with those who left, there is NO basis for comparison

Nigerian education plus Nigerian market < Western Education, Global exposure and access to places the ones in Nigeria can only dream of

I won't make the same error my father made

No worry, experience is the best teacher

While they will be in access bank feeling big, their mates who fled will be in Barclays, CitiBank etc

Ma worry se

Two passports, friends from all over the world, good education et al
No Nigerian kid in Nigeria can rival this sha

Make we dey look

Who knows.

N60m today was over US$160,000 some years ago as I vividly recall. Today it's just around US$40,000.

Decisions like this are not always about face value of cash. Other factors come into play. Above all, we all have different individual risk appetite.
