Tinubu Taught Me A Lesson In Tolerance, Forbearance – Olisa Metuh by ObiORBiafra(op): 9:29pm On Nov 26, 2025
Former National Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Olisa Metuh has said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu taught him to imbibe the spirit of forbearance and tolerance in his political career.

Metuh, who turned 60 on Friday, said he remained one of the greatest critics of the current President when he served as the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP but said it was the same Tinubu that took interest in his health and family when he was arrested and being prosecuted.

Metuh, who is preaching nation building anchored on the spirit of tolerance, forbearance and unity said: “when I was National Publicity Secretary, there was nobody that  I issued press releases against and spoke out against more than the then, Senator Bola Tinubu because we identified him as the key, the arrowhead of the then opposition and we made a lot of statements against him.

“So I was really, really shocked that when I had my travails, it was the same Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu that I fought against that reached out to me and my family, to get interested in my health, in my well-being and to assure me about hope in life then.

“It taught me a lot of lessons. He taught me the spirit of tolerance. He taught me spirit of forbearance. And  I think that leaders should be encouraged to imbibe that spirit, whether in or out of office”.

Metuh should have left the forbearance and tolerance lessons for Tinubu to teach him in person.

Tinubu doesn’t need his begging as it is unnecessary. Tinubu never took offense to start with. It’s all politics and he understood. That’s what differentiates him from the others.

He needs more palliative. He is entitled to his opinion and at the same time Nigerians should be the good judge.

Continue to learn from the teacher of teachers, the god of Politics, Emilokan JAGABAN. I don’t know where Tinubu learned his own style of Politics from, he can get any human to his side.

Now tell, where was Atiku Abubakar, Goodluck Jonathan, Olusegun Obasanjo and other PDP treasury looters when their looting servant needed them to save his life? How can we compare Tinubu to these other selfish and heartless treasury looters?

And Kanu Nwankwo reached out to Peter Obi to assist in funding his heart surgery and Obi chased him away telling him his money is not for surgery. Kanu would have been long gone if not for Tinubu

Obi is not a leader but a failure

Trust me, when you have real money very few things bother you. You even sleep smiling. Most times you forget to eat.

It's the tolerance that enables bandits and terrorists to be having a field day in Nigeria. We definitely don't like tolerance like this one

Tinubu is teaching all who wants results in life, especially if they can think critically, a lot of lessons with how he leads.

Friends and foes stand in the way of a man getting results. Strategies to negate that, so that desired results can still be achieved, is what Tinubu excels at.

If Tinubu comes calling today then Metuh, his past protagonist, will happily join team PBAT.

Indeed. Look at the list, today, of many of his previous enemies who have gone to great lengths to insult and discredit Tinubu ,to include the likes of Omokri, Bosun Tidjani, Festus Keyamo and Bwala etal, who are working for PBAT passionately today.

What Tinubu did with many was not Rocket science. He simply recognised the needs for political leaders to understand that, in politics, two wrongs do not make a right.

When opponents fights you passionately in politics, and this is a global phenomenon, it isn't personal. It's politics and the desperation to win at it.

So therefore, no need to return the same negative energy against them. Especially if they are talented people that can be won over and used productively.

Meaning if an individual remains humans, gracious and capable of rising above pettiness, as Metuh confirms Tinubu did, then there is no one a man cannot win over to his side to then deploy productively to gain results he desires.

Peter Obi and his supporters are sadists. They don't like to see good things or anyone being talk about as good. When people are happy it makes them sad and when people are sad it makes them happy.

Peter Obi did not help Kanu Nnwanko because there's no joy for him in helping a to recover from illness but if that same person dies Peter Obi will be the first to be there in his black clothes.
