Use your brain, that's why the story is a lie.
A family can't rent one bedroom apartment in the UK. It's not allowed, the landlord will be in big trouble if social service get to know about their living condition

The story is a pure confabulation.
Thank God someone else is saying it
not just me

If he can earn to build a house what makes you think he won't make it in UK? Maybe you lack hustle mentality.
He probably inherited the house he sold for cheap. If he was the one that worked hard to build it he wouldn’t sell a house in Lagos to gamble it away in UK. Most of you don’t know what it means to own a house in Lagos. I would rather gamble my money on a developing city like Lagos than gamble it on a country like UK that has reached its peak and now declining gradually.
However, he owns it and he can do whatever he likes with it.

Do you know how much inflation would have further damaged the value of the naira in 3 to 5 years from now?

What will be the worth of the 150 million naira in 3 to 5 years from now?
There is inflation everywhere.

I used to talk like u but listen to yourself and see how the country is tilting towards anarchy.

People just get killed at will. The rate of ritual killings, armed robbery, banditry,Bokoharam,Iswap and bad politicians making everything tough for people.

Since this govt came in,many people went from being average to poverty and many are still being plunged into unexpected financial troubles as a result of bad policies.

Let them go and ease off.
Since you are so knowledgeable please tell us the bad policies and outline why they are bad? Please……🙏

anytime you sell is the right time
land we bought 600k is now 5m
but then 600k can get you a used big daddy..
now used big daddy is about 4.5m to 6m.depemds of the sharpness
The same inflation that is happening to you in Nigeria is the same inflation that is happening to him in UK to an extends that he can only afford a one room apartment to house his family.
Inflation is everywhere, we can’t avoid it but can only hedge against it and real estate is a good way to hedge against inflation.

He will soon understand life in UK. Truly, some people are born to suffer.
Ogcalm down,how can a house worth 60m now worth 150m in 3years, a house that's depreciatingby day?

Personally I won't blame him, his reasons are cogent enough, within a short time he'dget mother job aging up to 3k or more

If the man gets a job quick, in three years, he must have made N60 million.
Remember that Naira has been bastsrdised by APC to N1951 to 1 GBP.
That’s a big IF. lol
Nigerians only hear go then they all rush in without proper research. Situation has changed in UK and situation is still changing.

Better with a peace of mind and knowing the children have a future, than staying in the whole house in Lagos without sense of direction and what would be the future of your children. Whether Nigeria will keep existing by Next year 2026. Let him secure the safety of his family first, put those kids in British school in London, same international school that wealthy Nigerians pay £10,000 to put their children in Lagos or Abuja.

He made the right decision. Secure your family first. All your National Assembly members and Governors don keep their family overseas. Let him keep his own too.
I have no problem with his decision. Just wondering how possible in UK to stay with wife and 2 kids in a room without official visitation

Depends on his plans

30k in the UK can blow up in smoke in less than a year quickly.
To survive with 2 kids, he will need at least 2k -2.5k per month.
That means he will need a job to supplement his outgoing. How he will managed to do that as a student and probably a singe parent is another discussion on its own.

Now, what course is he doing? Hope is it one that will get him a job fast post graduation. If not, he go hear wen. Funds go run out and no job to fall back one.
In my opinion, he has 60/40 chance to make it through.
The guy needs grace o

Now that Europe is having problem. Once all African countries decide to stop all European nations from stealing our resources I believe we will all understand that Europe is nothing without Africa, by that time this man will be looking for a way to come back home but for now I wish you good luck
If he is over 50, I really wish him luck. E may never see Nigeria again if he doesn’t have cardio health.

In that 3-5yrs if could make more than 150m Naira if he manage himself very well and invest him savings. Imagine he get a jobs that pays him 5,000£ per months and his saves £2,000 per months. In £72,000-120,000£ in 3-5yrs.... That is ₦137M to ₦229M.

Which is way over the ₦150m house in 3-5yrs you talk about

Every Tom Dick and Harry in Nigeria are too quick to blame government. Nigeria is a very poor country (in dollar terms). The government is very constrained by finance and budget. 250 million people on FG budget on only $62billion. That’s ridiculous !!!

Selling it for 60m alone.
Except the house is a complete dump.
Even empty land cost more in Lekki....

Student visa means there is a cap on employment opportunities

I see many Nigerians make that kistakhere in London.
Long throat can kill…….. the man will nearly meet his maker early if he is over 50!

That room possibly will be in a three bedroom flat where someone rented out a room for them as new comers . In two one or two they will get a better spacious place . While they are here they can go and inspect and meet possible landlord in person and for viewing before making payments.
That one room is mostly for people that just entered and someone decided to give them a room in thier apartment, instead of going to Air BnB .
I bet you before those children resume schooling the man must have secured a better house .
Visitation from local authorities isn't instant it takes sometime. I believe the children will behave themselves by not being too noisy not to attract the attention of neighbours.

That 60m na rent for over 3 years. He gets to he's school, get a good job for other bills, including house rent...Give or take, as long as it's God's direction for him, why not?
The concept of God doesn’t work in Europe. The man will suffer. And if he is over 50, he may kaput early due to extreme frustration and regrets.
