Gotocourt:say only what you know. They can only disobey the governor when there is a superior order from the GCFR... The governor heads the state security council and disburse security votes to each of them as he deem fit. That line that governor doesn't control them is only used by irresponsible governors who want to take attention away from themselves.. but they know how to use them to quench protesters.. |

guest1234:Both at the federal level (vice president) and state level (deputy governor) the deputy does not usually attend the security council meeting, but he could attend if he is needed. |

JohnAOne:I am not into issues of Ogbomosho, Akure or Okitipupa.. As you are well aware by now, Lagos is our NO MANS LAND. A collective property of ours! I have a right as a Nigerian to run my mouth on Lagos issues because every inch of Lagos was built with our collective patrimony. Like I always educate toddlers like you, if you don't like this, declare your Oduua Republic, get a flag and an anthem and we are good to go.. But as long as Nigeria subsists, we are all Lagosians.. |

owobokiri:I am NOT INTERESTED IN WHATEVER you have to say... LEAVE THE SOUTH WEST ALONE, AND FACE YOUR REGION OF THE SOUTH EAST. You already have enough problems in Igboland. Stop coverting after YORUBALAND, Lagos will NEVER be yours... |

| Re: Photos From Lagos State Security Council Meeting by naptu2(op): 9:12am On Nov 27, 2025 |
FreeStuffsNG:It depends on what's being discussed. For example, if the Ember months are approaching and they want to plan how to manage traffic during the period, then LASTMA could be invited. LASTMA could also be invited if there's any other major issue that significantly impacts traffic in the state. |

bewisemasses:Lagos has always been serious about security, nothing to do with Trump. From Tinubu's RRS to Fashola to Ambode. They all dealt with any security menace without crying or playing games with the FG or looking for how to increase their security votes. |

Reference:Well this is one of the areas where Lagos is simply different from other states. In Lagos there is what we call the Lagos State Security Trust which is a pool of private funding that goes toward equipping and taking care of security officers under this body. This helps to ensure that they are usually well motivated to respond to the security needs of the State. |

TonyeBarcanista:The vice president is the deputy head of state and usually represents the president when he is not available, but the vice president does not usually attend security council meetings. In fact, some people that don't know have tried to stir controversy because of this. They claimed that President Buhari was sidelining Vice President Osinbajo because the vice president did not attend a security council meeting. The fact is that the vice president (at the federal level) and the deputy governor (at the state level) do not often attend security council meetings, but they sometimes do.
