They don't, they think it's all fun and games, till X closed, Facebook closed, no freedom of speech. In military regime no laws or constitution, a bunch of rabid heads just control the nation how they feel and like, with their own rules. Genz say they want freedom but calling for enslavement. They need common sense.
These days, I pray fervently to God to protect Tinubu. He will live long enough to hand over to his successor in a democratic government. Any other alternative is more terrifying than the horror we are currently in

I've experienced both and I can categorically say that Democracy in Nigeria is worse. The third mainland bridge we have today is made by the military. If a good military head wants to make roads, bridges or any infrastructure at all, just know that it will be done 100% well, but let a democratic president of Nigerian try it, that structure will even collapse before he finishes his tenure.
All we can ask for is a good Military man who really have the country at heart, then watch how all policies will be effectively implemented and everything done in orderliness.

All these democratic presidents are just wasting our time.

What did Abacha do that Tinubu has not done??

You said the same during PMB erra the truth is Nigeria is not going to get better as long as the fraudulent 1999 constitution, and quota system exist. Just imagined that every region manages its resources and security, judiciary is totally independent and the president doesn't appoint the chief judge and INEC chairman, and there's no immunity for the governors, voting system is totally electronic. Did you think those who made you say this will get there even if they do they will be checked.

The president is too lenient with terrorists and their collaborators, he is not doing well at all...and this is dangerous as people will want to resort to self help. People like Gumi who encourage terrorists by advocating for them, terrorists that are killing Nigerians, soldiers and raping children and women are walking free, so many videos of terrorists coming out with guns with politicians... Nigeria is a disgrace now under him.

When the other option is as bad as dictatorship why won’t we wish all was lost by trying the other option. At least the ijiots enjoy our common will miss out on it.

NB: I’m a 80’s baby & I saw military rulers

Re: Gen Z Doesn’t Understand Military Coup – Security Expert by Dtruthspeaker: 8:32am On Nov 29, 2025
Ta! Dia

At least they understand that no one has a right to rule over his fellow men

and that if you rule over mrn, another man also has a right to rule over you.

And that no man has a right to rule over men exclusively.

And that if you are a bad ruler, everyone has a right to remove and replace your rule, even by force.

The problem in Nigeria is the amount is stealing going in in civilian administration is so shameful and the military administrations in Nigeria created so much

The states where created by the military
Third mainland bridge
Abuja the new capital
The conference center Abuja which Wike refurbished and named after Tinubu was built by Babangida
We didn’t have long lasting insecurity like this

The bottom line is insecurity
Without security it’s difficult to pursue development
So the bedrock most be fixed if not people will keep supporting the military
Yeah, so?

As for insecurity, we had maitatsine, armed robbery galore, farmer herdsmen crisis eve back then, and religious riots. Repeated religious riots

Civilian rule also gave us Lagos metro, fresh new railway lines , more airports and a spanking brand new refinery

Both army and civillans are bad in one respect , resource dependency. Army rule also did nothing about good sustained economic development which is why we have the security criss we have now. Chickens have come home to roost

Also our population at no time exceeded 100 million under army rule. Now it is 230 million people and the land has not grown

You think Gino doesn’t have his own followers? Or you think there’s no possibility that if Gumi is arrested today, it won’t birth some other terrorist sect? Just like Boko haram and all? If not that Shia followers of Elzakzaky happens to be lenient and not interested in picking up arms you think Iran wouldn’t have armed them for “self defense” against the Nigeria government as we speak? I believe insecurity in Nigeria is at its peak now and with time I also believe it will go down but might not end there because of the problems across the Sahel unless we build a wall across our borders. I watched a recent JNIM jihadist fighters interview and none of the guys present are even black. They are all folks from Northern Africa like Libya and all but yet operate a terrorist cell in Nigeria. They got here somehow. You have to be Weiss fighting insecurity so you don’t create more chaos. God help us.

Gen X here. I understand military coups well, having lived through some of them.

As civilians, we just put on the radio in the morning, and start hearing military "martial" music, playing on a loop.

At the appropriate time, we hear "fellow Nigerians......." Followed by a long speech, usually in the Hausa/Fulani accent.

We visit neighbours to discuss the implications of the new government, and get more details about it as the hours go by.

In a few days, ministers are announced, military governors are posted, and they, inturn appoint commissioners and directors-general.

Life goes on.

The sky doesn't fall on us common folk.

Politicians may go to jail or be placed under house arrest, but coups usually didn't affect us much, save for corruption, police and military brutality, but don't we have that right now?

Our "expert" should go and sit down, jare.

Even Abacha's regime was not as terrible as it is now so make we hear word abeg

Ask journalists like Chris Anyanwu (editor of TSM magazine), Kunle Ajibade (editor of The News), George Mbah (assistant editor of Tell magazine), Ben Charles Obi (editor of Weekend Classique), Niran Malaolu (editor of The Diet) and various others who were sent to Abacha's gulag for nothing more than reporting the news.

List out the things created by the military in your state.

The military ruined Nigeria by creating unproductive states. The oil money that should be used to develop Nigeria, it was spent on Abuja while the rest were stolen.

Poor power supply, bad road infrastructure, unviable states, Ill equipped and underfunded hospitals and schools etc is the result of military rule.

3rd mainland bridge construction started under Gowon and was eventually completed by IBB, how many years is that?

In 1999, all the 36 states infrastructure were nothing to write home about. Even in Lagos, from the island to the mainland was a mess

Nobody will be talking about military rule if these criminals in agbada are doing well.

I think the major reason why they're clamouring for it is because they believe it would solve the insecurity issue these bloody civilians have been unable to address......Na wetin person go benefit from e dey put body.

Most Nigerians haven't benefited from these agbada people who're only good at embezzling public funds.
