joshdgr8:From your description, it sounds like your 2010 Mercedes E350 is experiencing rapid oil level drop without visible leaks. Since you drive the car infrequently, the most common causes include: 1. Internal engine consumption – Worn piston rings, valve seals, or cylinder walls can allow oil to burn internally, which doesn’t leave external leaks. This aligns with your mechanic’s observation that the engine may be “weak.” 2. Oil quality and grade – Using the wrong oil type or extended intervals between oil changes can accelerate internal wear and consumption. 3. PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) system – A clogged or malfunctioning PCV valve can cause excessive oil consumption or pressure issues. Next steps we recommend: • Perform a compression and leak-down test to assess the internal condition of the engine. • Inspect the PCV system for proper operation. • Continue monitoring oil levels, but if internal wear is severe, a replacement or rebuild of the engine may be the long-term solution. At Ryan Automotive Limited, we offer engine diagnostics, compression testing, and professional advice to help determine whether a repair, rebuild, or replacement is necessary. I was very active on this page 9 years ago until I sold my C240. I got a Corolla first but my first major trip from jigawa to Calabar and portharcourt, I used speed to damage the engine. I really miss those days of assistance from this family I miss guys like AuHanson, Ikenna, Kuntash who could guide you to succesfully dismantle and recoupled your engine. And not forgetting Gee2627 and Sultaan. 2011 to 2016 was great. After thieves stole the corolla in 2024 I am now in the Peugeot family using a 206, no thanks to Mr Tinubu and his petrol policy. I will.be back someday to online interacting with my Benz family. Miss you all |

tommysparks:Almost same testimony with you. Had to let go of my c-class last week because of rust. I'm on Civic now due to fuel consideration as car is used majorly for school runs. Civic feels.like a toy when I'm driving. I'm planning a comeback next year... cos when you go German.... |

Senior men in the house. I greet. I got a MB c230 V6. I don't even know how to drive. Don't have knowledge on cars. Though upon purchasing the MB mechanic that did inspection says all is well. The engine is overheating. A BM mechanic that drove it to my place says the car is ok just a pipe for water that cut, that he will buy something to replace it. And also do oil and coolant change. He says the oil is Mobil(19K naira) and coolant (10K naira). I'm Googling though on Coolants and engine oil. Watching Ytube video. The front sit is moving forward when you use the control knob on the side of the door. It also does inclination at angles. And the upper side also where the head rest can be controlled up or down. But I couldn't figure out how to move the sit backwards..just forward near the steering. And I don't know how to adjust the height. Should I put a pillow. A friend who is a Toyota user wanted to test the car and forcefully removed the key after testing without turning it to off mode. So that's how the car refused to work, had ignition problems until the BM mechanic that drove the car made some contacts with rewires and they told him to check the fuse. After refusing everything worked. I also changed the four tires that came with it to tokumbo as they said the tires were bad ..35K each. One of the tokumbo tires just went flat. I don't know whether is air or what. Wetin I sabi. So I'm waiting for the BM mechanic to come to my rescue. I just leave the car. Here's is the break down of items he says I'll need and he will do oil change. Hopefully it stops overheating.

2cribz:The car is actually neat and interior as well. Close to Belgium. I'm enjoying the ride now. Smooth. The oil was changed. Coolant as well. As for the other complains on seats-- it's electrical, I got a good rewire that handled it. Everything works well. The overheating was due to a pipe that cut that supplies coolant to the radiator. I even scratched the front bumper of the car as I'm still learning. Our road is very bad. And I hit the bottom that bursted the AC pipe and all the gas leaked and the fan stopped working. But the rewire handled everything. Thank you. |

Good morning chief. I have a ML350 2014 with the underlisted codes: 1. p002177 2. P045604 3. P042000 4. p044200 At the moment, the only issue is just the unhealthy loud noise when I start it in the morning. Car moves fine and performs well. Kindly recommend possible solution. I stay around Ojodu Berger Lagos. Please recommend good mechanic that is affordable and professional. Babsfadeyi@gmail.com |

Mb experts in the house, I greet u all. Pls, see the coolant and engine oil that was used for oil change in C230 V6. Is the oil and coolant ok? I also noticed when driving sometimes on high rev it shows 'Check oil nearest gas station' and disappears. Sometimes reappears. I checked the dipstick, oil level is lightly under the Max level like 75%. My consign is, is the oil ok, as it was changed recently alongside the oil filter. I did some Google, it says sometimes it could be Oil Sensors faulty or not using the recommend oil. Your inputs will be appreciated.

Parser:If you are a serious BENZ OWNER this are types of oil you suppose to be using. It meets Benz oil specifications..... Newer BENZ model will not tolerate such abuse for longer.. the older Benz might tolerate lots of abuse...... Abro coolant: This is definitely not the right coolant for any cars talkles of Benz.. Coolant has special formula and addictives that protects your engine cooling system... Preston coolant: This coolant will definitely do a better Job than the Abaro coolant.. My conclusion and opinion: Dey manage the car like that with what you have. The reason is that BENZ is naija used and naija abused. Reverting to manufacturer reset might be of no use and waste of money........

Parser: dru23:Thank you and much appreciated for your input. I'll definitely consider this combo for next oil change soon. I just want to be doing the right thing. Have been also making research on this thread and via Google. I think I have to service the transmission oil as well because the gear selector isn't smooth not that it doesn't shift but I observed from other videos that it has to be smooth like butter. And I noticed like when I select gear sometimes there's some slight noise maybe from the transmission like not smooth. Other times I don't notice any noise. It's possible it could be the ATS fluid since maybe since the vehicle was manufactured the transmission oil hasn't been changed. Just hypothesis. I'm yet to give the MB to a mechanic yet. Although I spoke to one of recent. I want to be knowledgeable at least, before the mechanic make a very small problem to a big one. For the coolant. I saw a post on around page 100 (moniker, TRAC) that someone in this thread said, any coolant with HOAT, can be used for Benz w203, but to avoid the ones with silicate etc. And I Google Abro Red combo, I saw it's HOAT made. For the oil, I checked the thread as well but all full of argument...some said 0w 40 that was recommended for Benz since Nigeria weather doesn't start at 0 etc that 10w 40 is better etc 20W 50 isn't synthetic and recommended for old models etc Im just confused, although patiently reading the thread. I just want to do the right thing. But I know an experienced MB would know what's best because sometimes it seems the verdict is unique and based on the country and weather. What I noticed once I rev the engine, when temperature is 80c, sometimes it shows 'oil change in dashboard', don't know whether is as a result of the 20w50 ..or false readings of oil sensors as it's isn't the manufacturer's recommended and the dipstick shows oil is still in gauge or just oil sensors is faulty. Should I be consigned, or just ignore? Further inputs will be appreciated, thanks all. Thanks. Would appreciate any further input

| Re: Mercedes Benz Thread by Babatundehy: 3:32pm On Nov 29, 2025 |
Parser:Does the engine look okay when you open the oil cap, no sludge? Revving and oil light coming up could be pointing to inadequate lubrication caused by sludge. Change to the recommended oil and see what happens, I am certain recommended oil isn't 20W50. If the car isn't smoking and drives well, then the damage is probably not done yet, if you can find a mechanic with a scope, have him look at your insides. |
| Re: Mercedes Benz Thread by Parser: 3:41pm On Nov 29, 2025 |
cbrass:I dey enjoy am boss. I no go lie. The way the thing dey accelerate. Dey carry me go where I no know. Even d first time I started learning how to drive it fear enter my body but the fear is gradually going away cause I dey rev am atimes for free way. Truly it works fine on normal Nigeria standard. Haven't drove before. So don't know whether there's something more perfect than the current state. My friend who uses a c300 had drove it several times & he didn't complain on the performance or anything. But looking at the thread; I believe is all about perfectionism..noticing the small details before it turns out to bigger problems later. So this afternoon I went for a drive, and tested the oil level with the dipstick after the engine was idle for like 20 minutes because the weather was hot the level of the oil surpassed the Max level on the dipstick as opposed to the previous reading I shared earlier that it was a little below the Max level. Which means engine temp and weather affects the reading. I did some Google and some MB experts from some forums said, if there's more than the required oil the oil sensor could trigger the 'check oil level' that pops up sometimes on the dashboard. And they said to get the correct dipstick reading, you will run the engine and wait like 15 to 20 minutes which I did. So my hypothesis is probably the oil level is much than the required, which means I may contact a mechanic to reduce it and see.

Babatundehy:I'll open the engine cap and send a photo. Yes, 20W50 isn't the recommended. I didn't know anything. The BMW mechanic that delivered the car was the one that did the oil, filter and coolant change. When I told him my consign for the oil he said I shouldn't worry. That his combo will do. My friend who uses a c300 uses 0w40. When changing to the new oil the BMW mech showed me some oil particles that had formed on the old one and he told me it was bad for the engine..as a result of the previous owner. As for smoke. No smoke at all. Colourless. In the morning brings out steam. Thanks for the input. |

| Re: Mercedes Benz Thread by Babatundehy: 4:48pm On Nov 29, 2025 |
Going by the things you have said, I believe you have no serious issues, no reason to be scared, oil expands with increasing temperature and that can increase volume a bit, if the reading is more than the max level when hot, leave for a few minutes and then recheck, the most accurate reading on the dipstick is when the engine is cold and has been sitting for a while. If at the normal level when cold then do not care about the reading when hot, don't even bother checking when it is hot, do not forget to change the oil to what is recommended, the drained oil can give hints about the internals, congratulations on your ride, enjoy the power of V6, no too oppress them corolla Uber people for road ☹️ |
| Re: Mercedes Benz Thread by Parser: 5:01pm On Nov 29, 2025 |
Babatundehy:Thank you for the input. And much appreciated. Will do the oil change as recommended. I don't know the problem with some Corolla users with the urge to overtake and horn incessantly, no patience. From my few driving experience, once dey begin horn try to oppress or make me fear. I just hit the rev and dust them behind. One was horning wanted to overtake, I just rev, leave am for where him no know. I didn't know, there was also oppression in driving. My friend that drives a C300 says there would be a time the speed will be ordinary even as I dey fear and I'll want to upgrade to higher speed! For now this is already too much. Thanks boss. |

Parser:Regardless of weather my brother read the owners manual at all times..... It has to meet BENZ specification.... Many Benz mechanics have send Benz to their early grave and beyond 5w30 5w40 0w40 Transmission fluid it has to be recommended fluid from Benz and original. Fake dey naija too much Once mechanic start to mess with your engine and transmission that car will never be the same The Abro coolant, my brother I no fit use am . Most are just colored water..... The amount of fakes in Nigeria now, go shock you even fake people come join am too |

dru23:I'll go through the manual. I downloaded it on Google. Them say if u want to hide info from black man put in a book. The manual is actually bulky. But glance through it at most. I'd do the oil change from all of your various inputs. I'm highly thankful for all of your responses. Was just a bit adamant as it's not even up to a month I'm on this. But not withstanding, it's better to do the right thing than be sorry. A very sorry state for the country as everything is now low trust or low quality. What happened to SON. Is there any online foreign plugs/site that one can order mb stuff? Thank you. |
