reddingtonblack:Baba, you assume too much! That said, Tinubu flying GEJ in or not won't stop him from contesting against Tinubu in 2027 and where did you get this idea that GEJ needs "saving" in Guinea Bissau? Obviously you don't have any idea how foreign emissaries are treated in any Land. It is good thing to get out of that place as soon as possible because things can get ugly quickly but had GEJ decide to stay back until Nigeria come fetch him, nothing will harm him. |

reddingtonblack:Former President Jonathan Explains Why He Left Guinea Bissau on Ivorian Aircraft Former President Goodluck Jonathan has explained why he departed Guinea Bissau on a plane from Côte d’Ivoire instead of a Nigerian aircraft. He expressed his gratitude to both President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria and President Alassane Ouattara of Côte d’Ivoire, saying, “I want to thank my President, President Tinubu, and the Ivorian President, Alassane Ouattara. Both presidents were to send aircraft to lift us.” Jonathan explained that logistical and diplomatic considerations influenced the decision: “Côte d’Ivoire is closer to Guinea Bissau, and there’s a relationship between Francophone and Lusophone countries, which enabled Côte d’Ivoire to get a landing permit before Nigeria could.” He added, “So we asked the Nigerian government not to bother since the Ivorian aircraft had already arrived,” clarifying that the decision was based on convenience and timing, rather than preference. |

Lukuluku69:Naa me dey " Assume " can people imagine ... bring out the news where the coupe leader place restriction on Nigeria. Before you argue, please understand Tinubu is a man who plays Politics with everything and anything ... So it is foreseeable to tell why GEJ opted Côte d'Ivoire help Was it Cote d'ivoire that fly GEJ into Guinea, if GEJ felt save and free he wont have needed a "country" help to fly him out this tinz are common sense nawYou are still Missing the Point ... GEJ doesn't want Tinubu help, cos thats like asking the Devil for help Soon we will be hearing how GEJ is an ingrate, Tinubu rescued him but he wants to contest against him ... expect myopic from these people called Apc or Tinubu Did you know what they said against Osibanjo becos he picked form, at the apc primary did you hear the songs Tinubu thugs sang against Osibanjo We follow these people we know them, the presidency 1st broke the news GEJ is back in Nig. Cunningly won fé gba credit, i guess GEJ saw it and quickly released a statement to emphasize it was cote d'Ivoire 🤣 .. cunny man die cunny man bury am |

reddingtonblack:Baba, it is okay. Anything that can make us sleep well tonight between I am no fan of Tinubu. Never have and never will but the way you guys on his case mal him have some people "sympathetic " to him and kind of defend him. Also, remove from your mind that GEJ needs saving in Guinea Bissau. Had he stayed longer, absolutely nothing bad would have happened to him. Peace ✌️ |

reddingtonblack:You understand possibilities in time of crisis? One moment everything is calm, then the next, everything go south? Don't you? Had Jonathan stayed in that place, he will ne accorded the highest recognition. That is diplomacy. He came in as an Observer and not an enemy, it is unfortunate that there was a couple, that doesn't make GEJ an enemy of the State besides maltreatment of GEJ by the Junta won't stand in a good stead in the scheme of thing. This is not Politics, this is diplomatic best practice. So, I am not using "two mouth" to talk, because I know what I am saying. You can have your beef with anyone, that's is no skin of my nose and like I said, I was never a fan of Tinubu then and even now. |

Lukuluku69:what i dont understand is you bro, on one mouth nothing can touch GEJ on the other mouth things can go south .. stay one place infact let everything go from south to North, if your assertion is GEJ is safe stay one place In war or chaos there is no " Recognition" US did not rely on " recognition" before evacuating there envoys from isreal Bro no be person wey motor jam go write the plate number naa someone else .. GEJ knows ![]() Oga you dont know what you are saying, in crisis or chaos anything can happen thats what defines " collateral damages" You are not a fan of Tinubu yet you've made up excuses even Reno or Onanuga no see bring up .. if its true you think na your mouth we go dey hear the excuses |

Though it’s understandable since common sense is never common. Intelligent person would naturally know that Ivory Coast is closer and the event happened so fast that normal humans would naturally hop on any available flight but since many of you don’t use your number 6 (shebi na pesin wey get am Dey use am sef😂😂😂), you are easily influenced by sensational journalism. I was saying just this exact same thing Jonathan said but you resorted to insulting ur pman. All these nairaland kids ehn |

Kukutente23:Since Jonathan himself has spoken about what really transpired, what else do you have to say? Some of you ehn? To Dey think come hard una and you’re always the first to insult others who are far more educated and intelligent than you. Well, Jonathan himself has said that owing to the proximity of Ivory Coast to Guinea, he decided to hop on the Plane the agbero style😁, exactly the same thing intelligent people have been saying since yesterday😂😂😂😂 Slow ppl are very easy to spot and manipulate by sensational journalism. |

UrVillageChief:Does that change the fact that the Nigerian government did not delay? THISDAY learnt yesterday that the Ivorian government had already made arrangements to fly Jonathan using the country’s presidential jet, with some aides of President Bola Tinubu, getting in touch with a Jonathan aide in Abuja, rather than official communication from the highest level of the Nigerian government. “It was the Côte d’Ivoire government that reached out to President Jonathan and they have provided an aircraft that’s bringing him back,” a source who preferred anonymity told THISDAY yesterday. However, it was learnt that although the Nigerian government later reached out, the Ivorian government had already reached out to the former President and had already concluded arrangements to return him to Nigeria. While Abidjan acted with urgency to protect a visiting African leader, Abuja appeared flat-footed, offering little visible coordination or assertive diplomatic engagement despite Jonathan’s status as a former head of state and an envoy of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). how many hours is an emergency flight from Nigeria to Guinea Bissau that Nigeria couldn't have beaten Ivory coast in urgency, for Jonathan to tell the Nigerian government that they should not bother meaning it was the Nigerian government that delayed and were not full aware of a planned rescue from Ivory coast. if they were aware, they would have announced that they had informed Ivory coast to make a quick rescue operation since they are closer, they delayed in the rescue and that's the major point here, for Jonathan to tell them no need that another country has rescued him already... |

I and every other reasonable person said this same thing yesterday and Jonathan himself confirmed it today. The problem with many of you is that it’s dead easy to manipulate and stroke your brains and emotions. Reasonable people already knew that News didn’t make sense |
