Insecurity: Tinubu Should Apologise To Victimised Communities — Bakare by ogododo(op): 8:13pm On Nov 30, 2025
The cleric said the government must first accept responsibility for decades of failure to protect citizens from terrorism, banditry and other violent crimes.

The Lead Pastor of the Citadel Global Community Church, Tunde Bakare, has urged President Bola Tinubu to publicly apologise to communities devastated by insecurity.

Bakare, who made the call on Sunday during his State of the Nation Address in Lagos, said the gesture would mark a commitment to justice and national healing.

The cleric acknowledged that the president had taken initial steps to address the crisis but insisted that deeper action was required to restore confidence.

He said the government must first accept responsibility for decades of failure to protect citizens from terrorism, banditry and other violent crimes.

Bakare said the plan should include a Victims and Survivors Register, a national apology to affected communities after three months, and midterm compensation, stressing that accountability is crucial to restoring public trust and ending the cycle of violence.

The same Bakare that was very loud during GEJ is now asking his failed Yoruba brother to apologise. So people should keep dying?

Apologies will not solve or stop the attack, he should call for help.

All these Cho Cho Cho clerics!

He said God told him to run for president in 2019 and he'll be the 16th president or so!

Failed prophecy!

Yet they still talk!

Re: Insecurity: Tinubu Should Apologise To Victimised Communities — Bakare by emkz:
Would an apology change anything?

Woukd it bring back the dead?

Would it make the victims safer?

The issue is that terrorists have no fear for the government of the day. Terrorists taunt government by kidnapping children and collecting ransom. When we hear that the military rescued kidnap victims without a single terrorist kpaied, it simply means there was an exchange.

We are hearing that sponsors of terrorism would be exposed. What happened to those exposed last year? What happened to Captain Tijani Balarabe who supervised the murder of policemen who had arrested kidnapper Wadume in Tarana state? Why do we always find that security personnel sell arms to kidnappers? If we investigate the kidnapping, we won't be shocked if security personnel provide cover while kidnappers carry out their raids.

During the time of CG Musa, we read reports of terrorists killed on daily basis. What now happened?

We are joking if we kill hungry boys who carry out the acts while ignoring their leaders and sponsors. We must also purge security agencies of bad eggs and terror informants like the DSS has done.

With the likes of Bello Turji, Dogo Gide, Dankirimi, Dangote (not Aliko), Buharindaji (late), Albert Yankuzo, and terror lords roaming free and "enjoying" their evil careers, others would be inspired to want to be like them or join them.

If we are serious, they should be cleared decisively.

Mr Bakare the hypocrite sir, you only apologize after the battle is won or when the storm is over.

Tinubu have not won the battle of insecurity, he hasn't withered the storm of mass kidnapping and terrorism that is rampaging all over Nigeria, he can only apologize after he has won the battle.

Meanwhile, did you notice how calm, meek and subtle Bakare spoke to Tinubu, compare it to how this same man spoke to Jonathan when Nigeria wasn't experiencing half of what Nigeria is experiencing today under Tinubu.

Guess why? Nepotism! It is his Yoruba brethren, so his errors and incompetence can be largely excused undecided

He also owes Jonathan and Obasanjo an appology too for engaging in all the things he has previously accused them when they were president.

All these people just wake up funny ideas. These are the same guys that woke up and said our problems was that June 12 was not democracy day, or that Abiola was not GCFR. All these people that use their mouths to fly planes should not be priority to listen to. Today the parroting is that apology is crucial to restoring public trust and ending the cycle of violence.
No, what is crucial is sending all terrorists to their Maker, education, and a crackdown on religious extremism and its preaching. Gulf countries and any Muslim countries not in crises have serious and strict monitoring of their religious preachers.

Apology Kwa?

Before he finishes tendering one apology, 10 fresh incidents would have occurred.

He should ask for outside help if he really cares for Nigeria and Nigerians since it's obvious the military can't handle it.
He should forget his 2027 ambition for now and save the country if he really cares.

Stop playing politics with innocent lives tinubu.

Because he's the one empowered the insecurity in the North?

The people of the North should fetch the people causing unrest in their region and report them to the authorities...

And stop looking for apology.

Abi o.

What is the point of apology when the commander in chief is clueless about dealing with insecurity. He prefers to negotiate and pay ransom for the release of a few girls while the vast majority of the kidnapped children remain in captivity.

Why and how did we allow Tinubu to be president after his APC disaster of a president Buhari?

The opposition is utterly useless so it doesn't matter what tinubu does or doesn't do. A divided and weak opposition is as good as giving tinubu another mandate.

A divided opposition is a weak opposition.

The law and constitution excuses it. It's a democracy, remember? When the North and Southeast is ready, the teacher will appear.

Some people wants to k1ll, rape, kidnapp as many Nigerians as possible, so as to force their way into Aso Rock. And they say they want to save Nigerians. Their tribal foot soldiers are now killing and kidnapping just because of them. One man from the East also joined them because his interest is not saving Nigeria but taking power
