Governor Aiyedatiwa Commissions Amotekun Control Centre, Training Facility

Ondo State recorded another major milestone in its security drive today as Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa commissioned the new Amotekun Command & Control Centre and Training Auditorium in Akure.

The Governor reiterated that protecting lives and property remains a top priority under his administration’s OUR EASE agenda. He praised the Amotekun Corps, especially Commander Akogun Adetunji Adeleye for their loyalty, sacrifice, and innovation.

Key Highlights
•New Command & Control Centre to boost intelligence + rapid response
•New Training Auditorium for modern tactical + theoretical training
•Approval for 500 new Amotekun recruits
•Stronger synergy among all security agencies in Ondo State
•Tributes paid to late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, visioner of Amotekun

Security chiefs including the CP, NSCDC Commandant, and DSS Director all applauded the Governor for his unwavering support, noting that it has helped make Ondo one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria.

The maiden AGM of the Amotekun Cooperative also held during the event.

Ondo stands firm. Ondo stands secure.

Nice. Way to go.

Tinubu should decentralize security abeg. Let every state and region take care of their own security. The Senate should be pressured to hasten the formation of laws to allow state police. Truth is the FG alone can't secure the whole of Nigeria.

Northern lawmakers and governors will be romancing bandits (aka terrorists) and jihadists while the centre will be taking the blame for the insecurity in their states.

Aiyedatiwa is one of the least performing governors in SW, but see how he's taking his state security serious.

Then we have the SE where a sitting governor is saying he will strategize to free that terrorist and Emir of Sokoto prison - the same person that influenced cannibalism, kkillingss, kidnapping, rappppping, and economic shutdown of 5 states every f Monday.

Tell me how and why SW won't be the economic giant of the country. Investors will leave and sideline the SE and the North to go invest in the SW. Citizens (esp those from the SE) will run away from the hotzones across the country to seek refuge and economic prosperity in SW. They will outstretch our infrastructures then still want the FG not do anything for our region.

This country get as e be.

I don’t know a federation that depends solely on Federal police like Nigeria! I don’t know of one!

That is why they are not effective; we don’t have fuel, our tires are bad. They wait for the hierarchy in Abuja to give order before they take action.

Though state police should be checked. The Amotekun have proven to be much more effective in combatting crimes.

One of the reasons the late governor would be remembered for commendation in the South West.

Ondo blazed the trail and keeping the momentum on this Amotekun.

It won't be a suprise if they become the first state to officially launch the state police when the approval comes.

Please pay and motivate the men in the Amotekun to be able to do more.

This is quite commendable, peace has actually returned back to ondo state, i visited the state two months ago.. the journey was good, the fear of being kidnapped has gone down. One can travel now without fear. Thank God for the effort of this administration both from state and federal level. May God bless my dear state and Nigerian in general 🙏

If this Amotekun thing can be given the teeth of the law to apprehend and prosecute and the support of a truly independent judiciary there is no reason why it cannot work to secure the state.

The Nigeria Police should step aside and be doing their so called checkpoints....or toll gates of extortion. That is the only thing they seem good at.
Re: Governor Aiyedatiwa Commissions Amotekun Control Centre, Training Facility by SonOfDSoil01: 6:59am On Dec 02, 2025
This quite commendable….May the soul of former Governor Akeredolu continue to Rip for standing his ground when their was so much opposition from the then FG headed by Buhari. Indeed amotekun as been a success story, even though there is a lot that needs to be done. They need to recruit more personnel and also training and equipping them with more sophisticated weapons. The FG should give them the license to use AK riffles. This is a short term solution to curb the rising insecurity since the state police is still a long process to achieve.

Nice one!

The most important thing is that they should be equipped with sophisticated weapons, not asa na jē (shoot and run) guns.

Another thing is that they should be given good orientation......I don't want a situation where they'll be using them to collect LAPO money from defaulters, that's not their job.
Re: Governor Aiyedatiwa Commissions Amotekun Control Centre, Training Facility by Solidkay(m): 7:03am On Dec 02, 2025
They should just establish state police already,
Train them and equip them accordingly.

God bless gov Ayetidawa so much for this wonderful action.

They shouldn't forget the Agbekoyas, NSCDC and vigilantes too. All hands are needed on deck!
