⚡ A Venezuelan researcher warns that any U.S. aggression against Venezuela will face resistance in the style of Yemen… Caracas is Sana’a and Miami is “Tel Aviv.” The Venezuelan network Telesur issued a stern warning that any potential U.S. military action against Venezuela would be met with fierce resistance similar to what Washington and its allies faced in Yemen, rather than as seen in Gaza or Syria. This came in an extensive analysis by researcher Sergio Rodríguez Gelfenstein titled: “America Will Face an Expanded Yemen in Venezuela… Caracas is Sana’a and Miami is Tel Aviv.” The analysis noted that Venezuela, with the largest oil reserves in the world and the fourth-largest gas reserves, in addition to vast mineral and water resources, represents a strategic target for U.S. ambitions in its quest for global control over vital resources. Gelfenstein highlighted what he described as Washington’s “unmeasured geopolitical risk,” based on Yemen’s experience confronting the “Triple Aggression” led by the U.S., Israel, and Saudi Arabia. He pointed out that the 2015 campaign, which aimed for a quick victory within weeks, turned into a decade-long ongoing failure. According to the report, by 2019 Yemen had successfully developed advanced missile and drone capabilities, including hypersonic missiles, used to target critical facilities such as Saudi Aramco refineries. He also noted that Yemen thwarted a significant part of the U.S. strategy in the Red Sea, even in the presence of aircraft carriers, citing U.S. studies confirming the declining security of those carriers in the region. The analysis drew attention to geographical and strategic similarities between Yemen and Venezuela, noting that the distance between Caracas and Miami—about 2,200 km—is comparable to the distance between Sana’a and the city of Jaffa, commonly referred to as Tel Aviv, which faces continuous attacks from Yemeni missiles and drones. The report concluded that Venezuela, leveraging its natural resources and support from key allies such as Iran, Russia, and North Korea, could build an advanced missile and drone deterrent system in a short period, potentially surpassing current Yemeni capabilities, providing strong defense against any external attack. Gelfenstein emphasized that a full-scale invasion of a country nearly one million square kilometers in size, with a population of around 30 million and a unified military structure, would be a “nearly impossible mission” under current conditions.
