A few weeks ago, Christopher Musa was saluting and taking instructions from Bello Matawalle, the Minister of State for Defence.

But with the new arrangement that has elevated Musa to the position of Minister of Defence, the question now is:

Will Bello Matawalle be playing the role of a junior minister under him?
Life is a continuum and Matawalle has NO choice but to work in partnership with the new Minister of Defence General Christopher Musa (rtd). If he CANNOT stand the heat of bring subordinate, then he should resign.

In FACT this guy who is a Fula by origin is one of the Fulas at all levels of government who MUST be removed for the foreign Fula militia bandits from the Sahellian countries of West Africa attacking indigenous Nigerian people (Hausas, Berom, Tivs, Southern Kaduna folks, Nupe, Yoruba and Bariba of Kwara, Kogi, Niger States, etc)
in their communities from North to the South of Nigeria to be totally tamed with advanced surveillance and attack drones including the use of low-earth orbit satellites and boots on the ground. Period.

Musa is minister of defense and not CDS. He is already retired from service. Musa may not even be taking orders from Tinubu. Musa was appointed under pressure from the US. It can be said that Musa presently is more powerful than Tinubu.
Who backs Tinubu? The Nigerian armed forces.
Who backs Musa? The military of the United States.
There is a reason why the US wanted him there. They will bypass Tinubu and relate straight with Musa.

Matawalle will resign in the coming days.
See reasoning 😂😂 chaii

Minister of Defence and Minister of State for Defence have their roles well spelt out. The minister of Defence is in charge of the Army and Airforce while the Minister of State for Defence is in charge of Navy and paramilitary forces. There's nothing like whether Musa will be answerable to Matawale. 2 of them have their roles well spelt out.
I think this is more about their position and hierarchy in government, not their roles. In this case, Musa still remains the superior, even if their roles differ.

Commander in chief of the armed forces that another country can dictate to him who to put or remove from his cabinet is that one a commander? Tell me which country of the world has this kind of thing happened before? Some of you are too shallow that the gravity of certain things eludes you because you lack the ability to even begin to comprehend things.
I chuckle at your comment cheesy

Two options: he takes instruction from his boss and remain in the cabinet, or he refuses to take instructions and resigns.

There's no report that can ever bypass the president except on a covert operation.
Aside that no information either classified or not that doesn't go through the presidency's table.
He doesn't even realize that that's a coup waiting to happen cheesy

The suggestion of reporting the US gave me quite a laugh. Reminds me of those analysts at newspaper stands knowing everything that happened cheesy

He has no choice! In fact, the JAGABAN does not need to sack him. He will sack himself by the time he realizes that Musa would be giving him instructions like:

1. Make sure you inform all the service heads that I want to see them in my office by 5 pm today. Make sure you are there also.

2. Also tell the cleaner to mop my toilet.

3. I will send you on an errand to get some files for me from Wike.

Yes. That's the rules

Even the minister of state should be removed

Sangoamadioha1:
According to the Nigerian Constitution, a Minister of State does not take orders from a Minister of the same ministry. While both positions may exist within the same ministry, the Minister is typically the head of the ministry and oversees its general operations. The Minister of State often has specific responsibilities delegated by the Minister, but does not operate under direct orders in a hierarchical sense.

Overview of Roles
Minister: The primary head of a ministry responsible for overall policy direction and decision-making.
Minister of State: Typically appointed to assist the Minister and may manage specific aspects of the ministry's work; however, they act independently in their role.
Structure and Authority
The relationship is more collaborative rather than one of direct command, emphasizing teamwork within the ministry rather than a strict hierarchy. Each minister operates within the scope of their defined roles as outlined in their appointments.

In practice, effective communication and cooperation between a Minister and a Minister of State are crucial for achieving the ministry's objectives.

From A.I☝️
This means the minister is superior to the minister of state

Musa will simply bypass him and make him redundant ...shut him out of important meetings because he is a major security risk .

How do you expect him to understand the concept of constructive dismissal?
Let the professionals do the job.Mattawalle should be redeployed elsewhere and another professional be appointed the minister of state for Defence.

But was it necessary for the CDS to salute a civilian minister who was never a commissioned officer or the current commander in chief?!

Redeployed where?
Mattawalle is not qualified to be even a driver in the Nigerian Air Force.

Go and Google the qualifications for being a driver in the Navy or Airforce.

You are correct, Tinubu was forced to make that appointment by the US,if not they will remove him. Matewalle is one of the terrorist sympathize as so many of them are because of their religion and tribe.

It's not by force to be a minister, if he doesn't want he can resign, it's as simple as that!

Mtcheww. Musa answers to President Tinubu and can be fired at anytime, if he underperforms. Quit fantasizing. Yes, everyone has seen the pressure from foreign countries like the USA for the Nigerian government to take decisive actions on issues concerning insecurity, but they couldn't have specified for Musa to be appointed. Pure crap.
