90% of what these Governors do, has nothing to do with governance. What is your problem with masquerade? A masquerade is a human being who decorates himself to entertain. Correct? And they also have cultural and religious values. So what does a person who wears a cassock and all those things look like? That's a masquerade too because they are not dressed like normal people.

Even the Governor himself is a masquerade because he wears clothes he doesn't need. What distinguishes a person from the masquerade is the mask, that's why they call it masquerade. He wears a mask over his head so that you don't recognize the person who is there for cultural purposes so anybody who is wearing a mask make-up is a masquerade because you are masking your face.

The issue is total foolishness and inferiority complex on the part of that guy. If masquerading was a white man's religion or practice, the Governor will have gladly been importing masquerades from Europe. The mask on the faces of masquerades in some places, the better ones are from carvings of our own local artists and it's our own cultural practice. The masquerades sometimes are used to entertain kids, some help for environmental preservation but these idiots don't even know their history. He, himself been a Pastor, is a masquerade. He is not even practicing the religion of his fathers, he is using foreign religion to suppress local religion.

He is a masquerade too and should be arrested.

Sowore, masquerades don't have any business in cities and urban areas. They are supposed to operate in rural areas, but not in cities to harassment and extortion money from people.

The masquerades in Akwa Ibom state use machetes, bow and arrows. Some are known to use other dangerous weapons to snatch properties, motorcycles, and even cars. Many of the masquerades are armed robbers. Many of their activities had caused road accidents and death in the past. I grew up there, and I know that they had long became a menace to the society.

Sowore really likes trouble. He never said masquerades should cease to exist rather he argued that they shouldn’t go around harassing people. Instead, they should be confined to town squares or designated spaces where those who are genuinely interested can come to watch them.
