Where were the police when kidnappers were still using it. They suddenly realise it is time to arrest innocent man. Shame on them. |

okeke6969:The SSS are doing their job and I see no reason why you should be upset. Just try not to buy any SIM without the receipt and SIM pack |

nlfpmod:The incompetent DSS is showing their inefficiency as usual. This is not a rocket science. It is normal to pick the man up initially but investigation should not last more than 48 hours and the release the man. Just get the man's NIN with his order lines if any. Then get the history of the sim from the network provider. Juxtapose the details of the user as at the time of crime and the detail of the user now. Also check about the usage of the sim and when the current owners details were first used to register the sim. If these details are not consistent then the innocent man should be allowed to reunite with his family within 48hours with little compensation for inconveniencies. |

I think the service providers should halt recycling of SIM Card numbers. That's how only-GOD-knows-who will be calling one speaking in unknown tongues. |

Nlfpmod, what the lady said in the video is far different from the headline you wrote. Seun, please watch the video and title the thread appropriately. There was no mention of kidnappers and all that. Just that her did bought a registered SIM in Lagos and went and visited her in ekiti and was arrested there by DSS that came from Lagos. Her pain is they are not allowing anyone talk to him. No where was kidnapers mentioned |

beycity:THE DSS KNOW THE TRUTH, BUT THEY WILL STILL HOLD THE PERSON. THEY KNOW THEY CAN TRACK THE SIM THROUGH THEE NETWORK PROVIDER BUT THEY WONT DO THAT, THEY WILL JUST KEEP OPPRESSING THE HAPLESS MAN. |

| Re: Man Arrested After Buying A Recycled SIM Used By Kidnappers by grandstar(m): 12:31am On Dec 04, 2025 |
i doubt DSS cares. It is how to monetize and dehumanize the man that is left. In Nigeria, you're assumed completely guilty until proven otherwise. A simple lie-detector test is sufficient to clear things. They can also ask the GSM company for the history of the sim. At the end of the day, pray he isn't guilty. You might be like this because he is your father. |

johngwain:DSS has been the most useless secret police for ages. Slow, inefficient, full of politicians. Their bias and tribal stand makes it worse. What they could have pushed for is a bill for kill number. Once a line is assigned to anyone, it's forever like several other nations Telcoms does. Even at that a radical and logical investigation must be conducted to follow up in the case of crime. That's what you get when cultists are recruited into secret police. |

Sue the network provider for 10 billion naira simple. Look for a lawyer agree to slit the proceeds 50-50 if he wins then you dont have to pay the lawyer's fee. |

Buharidgeneral:After intervention by well meaning Nigerians , a weird term you will only hear in Nigeria! What’s the criteria for becoming “well meaning “? What about the demography that didn’t make this exclusive cut…are they to be obliterated? So the law is for the highest bigger. What happened to equity and equality? |

Your pale go buy street SIM instead of going to buy from provider offices. Nigerians you have a civic responsibility to do the right thing, stop acting irresponsibly like kids. |
