This is some sanctimonious and morally superior BS that assumes the candidate you support is the right one and everyone who disagrees is wrong. Democracy doesn't work that way. Everyone gets their one vote, and exercises it based on their own priorities, experiences and fears. Reducing people's choices to values you approve or disapprove of is childish. Politics no be religion. Nobody owes you loyalty to your preferred messiah. Know this and know peace.

People selling their votes in Nigeria is due to poverty and a defective electoral structure, and not because we do not take elections seriously. Hunger no dey hear sermons, and lectures no fit get weight when survival dey on the line. So abeg, drop the moral superiority. Naija get hin own problems but we no need to add American-style madness on top.
Let me ask you a simple question.

If your mother supports a candidate that subscribes to a jihadist ideology. One that seeks to impose Islamic religion upon society by violence. How would you relate with your mother?

Of course this already supposes that you've tried everything to changed her mindset. How would you relate to a pro jihadist mother and brother who aligns with a violent movement to impose a theological political system in the entire country?
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by donjazzet: 11:18pm On Dec 03, 2025
Semid4lyfe, your post is a cheap attempt to cheapen the drastic importance of politics and ideology in our collective lives.

If my father or mother supports and votes for candidates that are very clearly and obviously dangerous to society, then cutting them off is the least you can do that is of course after numerous attempts to change their perception with love.

Politics is NEVER A GAME. it is the single most powerful bedrock of every society. It shapes the society you live in. And you may be blind to that but you must strive to see it as an issue of life and death. Because you cannot escape politics.

Since joining the club ahead of the 2023-24 season, #Chelsea have won just 25% of their Premier League matches when Moisés Caicedo hasn’t been in the starting XI [2/8], compared to 52% when he has been a starter for them [43/82].

Tinubu knows the task is to win Nigeria not Lagos or Anambra of FCT. You dont know this an Obi does not as well which is why he took foolish arguments to Supreme court
Stop acting like an illiterate because you're not. Tinubu won Nigeria. But that's not the question. The question is why didn't he win Lagos. Or you mean that he lost Lagos so as to win Nigeria?

He didnt win Lagos and he didnt need to win Lagos. Its Obi the illiterate and you who thought winning Lagos Anambra and FCT is what you need to be president

Tinubu achieved his aim of winning the election, Obi failed and started crying

How did your life improve under Peter Obi in Anambra
Obviously you have no answer. 130m Nigerians thrown into multidimensional poverty under Tinubu. These are not my comments.

Germany received arrow 3 missiles from is rael to defend themselves against potential Russia ballistic missiles,France want to introduce mandatory conscription for their military.

All these are signs the conflict in Ukraine ain't de-escalating soon,do not deceive by any peace plan whether in middle east or Europe.

Rusdi, china, iran, turkey are all plotting something behind the scenes (note each of these countries have different agendas, they won't fight as one).

Copied from LinkedIn

David Oyelowo's entire family lived in one bedroom in Lagos.
His mother dreamed of her Mercedes-Benz for decades.
She got a brain aneurysm the day they moved into their Hollywood dream home.

I need you to understand something

One bedroom. Parents on one bed. Three boys on a bunk bed. Every wall telling the same story: We can't afford this life, but we're going to buy it anyway. With education. With sacrifice. With tomorrow's promises.

"I can't wait till I have my Merci Oloye,” his mother would say.

That Mercedes-Benz wasn't just a car. It was vindication. Proof that choosing school fees over food made sense. Evidence that poverty was temporary if you paid the right price.

She paid in full. Never collected.

The day success arrived was the day she left.

Not gradually. Instantly. Brain aneurysm on moving day. Like life said: "You can have the dream or the dreamer. Not both."

Two months before David would play Martin Luther King. Three years in a vegetative state. She never came back.

This is what Chika Uwazie calls timeline grief: When the life you finally arrive at doesn't include the people you were building it for.

David's mother wasn't asking for much. Just to see what she built. To sit in that house she sacrificed for. To watch the movie she prayed into existence. To drive the car that would prove the suffering meant something.

Instead, she got three years of silence while her son became the face of civil rights in America.

"No one prayed into Selma happening more than my mother," David told me.

The person who wanted it most was the only person who couldn't see it.

We tell ourselves pretty lies about delayed gratification. That our parents understand. That they're proud of our progress. That there's always next year for that visit home.

David's mother had no next year.
No next visit.
No next anything.

Just three years of her son's success echoing in an unconscious mind.

This is immigrant mathematics: Every achievement multiplied by absence equals regret.

David still builds for her. Every project carries her DNA. Things Fall Apart will shoot in Nigeria because she taught him authenticity matters. Mansa exists because she taught him ownership matters.

But here's what he knows that we pretend not to:

He'd trade every award, every role, every accomplishment for five more minutes. To tell her what he thought he'd have decades to say. To show her the Mercedes he can now afford but she'll never drive.

Timeline grief is realizing you spent so long becoming who they wanted you to be, they never got to meet who you became.

Your parents aren't waiting for you to "make it."
They're waiting for you.

The Mercedes can wait.
The mansion can wait.
Success can wait.

Your mother can't.

What conversation are you postponing until you're "ready"?
What if ready comes after goodbye?

Watch David tell this story.

Call them today. Tell me what happened.

If this resonates with you, share with your network.

I refuse to be morally blackmailed and drawn into your extreme hypothetical mind game. Your overly sanctimonious posturing has made you miss the fact that you're the one trying to cheapen the importance of political choices by reducing it to supporting jihad and violent extremism.

That you'd even go down the manipulative route of "what if your mother supports a candidate who subscribes to a jihadist ideology" in an attempt to use a fringe hypothetical to justify emotional overreaction to ordinary political choices, is shameful and defeats your arguement.

Most political differences in Nigeria by the voters on the candidates they support stem from ethnicity, party affiliation, insecurity, the economy, corruption perception, unemployment & job creation, power supply etc and things that will improve quality of life, not Jihad or extremist ideology.

None of those considerations warrant cutting off people who raised you, fed you and helped you during hard times. If you think otherwise, then it proves my point that politics has become your religion and a do-and-die affair. Na you holy pass. Na only you sabi road and anyone who disagrees with you is morally corrupt. Such intolerance and toxicity shouldn't be encouraged or emulated in our political sphere.

Normal people disagree during elections on a multitude of issues, without being labelled terrorist sympathizers. Mature and sensible adults know how to argue and have political differences without destroying their homes.

Again you are attempting to cheapen the implications of elections.
No, my analogy is not extreme! It is to emphasize the importance of politics in all our lives. You are the one trying to emotionally blackmail people by using love of family to excuse when those same people support ideology inimical to the society. Supporting a political candidate only because he's from your tribe is also as dangerous as my analogy.

Don't dodge the question.

HOW WOULD YOU RELATE WITH YOUR LOVING MOTHER WHO SUPPORTS A VIOLENT JIHADIST THEOLOGICAL CONQUER OF THE SOCIETY?

My questions aims to highlight that your loved ones can also harbor very dangerous beliefs and it's not black and white to say, ohh no matter what, love them. That's you emotionally manipulating people.

You crashed out after the results of 2023 elections was declared.

More than 2 years after, you're still crashing out and projecting your hurt to blame BRD for DYK's post in a public forum.

At this point, its safe to conclude you'd never get over it. Continue to wallow in the pain.

So it's ad hominem now instead of facing the point? That's quite immature.

But what should I expect from a biased moderator who teamed up with dayo and started deleting and suspending me for highlighting his terrible tribal attacks? You showed the typical characteristics of a corrupt Nigerian politician, the type you support.

Small power you were given, you abused it to help your friend and apply bias in your action. That's why you support the rot in the system. A very big shame.

How can everyone even support only one candidate?

How does this make sense?

Make the whole Nigeria support only Obi, or only Tinubu? That one na democracy?
