To start with, who are your neighbouring allies that you can can be transacting business with temporarily before your new country can be recognized years after globally?

Your new currency, let's even forget about international recognition, have you considered how worthless it will be for years before picking

Which passport will your citizens be using to travel out from your new country as it might take decades for some countries to recognize or start dealing with you?

If those few listed points above will take years to make proper friendship with the global economy, how would your new country survive with little resources?

Lesotho is an independent country in the middle of South Africa. They have their own currency called lesitho Loti, their own military, their own passport, their own flag, coat of arms. They are surviving and doing well despite being inside South Africa. They are officially recognised as an independent country by the UN

San Marino is an independent country inside Italy. They have their own Passport. If not that all western now use Euro, they would have had their own currency. They have their own parliament, flag, coat of arms etc. San Marino is doing very well despite being inside Italy.

you are right about finding favour with the big 5, because lack of foreign support to Biafrans caused the defeat of Biafra, as Ojukwu was too idealistic and too proud to seek for the critical foreign support, and patriotism is essential though not enough to win such wars.
