All of a sudden their major actors left Ghana to live in other countries, poor funding with little government support. Above all the industry is creative and can still rise. That never happened! Nigéria only featured their actors. Nigerians watch Nollywood. Hollywood, Bollywood, S.Korean and Hispanic soaps.

The only thing Ghana that I remember reigning in Nigeria was their local music. It was largely popular among drivers and conductors in Enugu and Onitsha

Nigeria has more population, and economic advantage that comes from it., especially in entertainment.
Apart from that, every country has some relative advantage in some areas.
Check the historical records of independence, football etc.

All this Ghanians are watching only Nigerian movies is relative because we still have some Nigerians that can't do without Ghana movies likewise music,if you go to the US,most of the songs they in their clubs are Nigeria songs even some their radio stations

I believe it's a gradual thing, there was a time when Ghanian movie was reigning in Nigeria. And most times Nigerian doesn't even watch our movies rather they choose American movies...but now things are changing...we have variety of options....I can choose to see our movies from morning till night without getting tired...all because we have upgraded and we telling our stories...movie is beyond sitting a writing false naration...

Most Ghanaians hardly watch their own films; they tend to favor Nigerian cinema. Why is that? We are inherently gifted and talented. What we accomplish daily might not seem significant to us, but I can guarantee that it is not only important to other Africans, but they also cannot replicate any of our skills. Nigerians ought to value themselves a bit more. God has blessed us richly.

Ghanian movie producer couldn't gain the attention needed so they start acting pure porn as movies to gain small relevance Which later backfire.

They love to spread false facts about Nigerians. Without taking into consideration or giving kudos to the help, role,or the part that Nigerians play in their entertainment industry generally.

Nigeria is one of the markets that embraces and accepts everything without bias.


If it's good. Nigerians would accept and play it without consideration for where it's coming from. Nigerians accept things from outside almost to a fault. Same cannot be said of the same people that like to sit down back and criticize all the time. They always like to shift blames. Nigeria or the success of Nollywood or the entertainment industry in Nigeria generally isn't the reason for the failure of the Ghanian entertainment industry.

Someone should help me ask this Ibrahim sellasie if Ghanians themselves accept and watch their own movies? Why are they not watching their own movies which most of them are low budget with weak story lines but expect Nigerians to watch them.

Ghanains watch Nigerian movies because it's more entertaining to them especially compared to their own movies and not because they want to deliberately support Nigeria movie industry or entertainment generally.

These Ghanians can really be annoying and unnecessarily competitive and petty sometimes!

Dont mind them small minded petty things. The lots of them have very fragile ego and low self esteem

Some years back I watched few of their movies and I noticed I saw almost same faces in all the movies and I lost interest since then.

We stopped watching Ghanaian movies coz, we don't see fine faces like Nadia Buari, Juliet Ibrahim , Van Vicker and the likes again . Well sha, that's why I stopped watching their movies. Lol

I used to watch Ghanaian movies, and I actually preferred them to Nigerians ones, some of their a list actors and actresses are actually rather much better than many of the Nigerian counterparts.

But I've not been watching their movies in a while.
