There is a reason why the US wanted him there. They will bypass Tinubu and relate straight with Musa.

During Buhari Gen Mungono was the NSA and Gen Gashar was the Defense minister. What difference does it make. We were almost overan by bandits. What we have now are political soldiers. Only during Obj that he was decisive on security.

Stop deceiving yourself, Buhari is the Genesis of the insecurity we are currently facing, instead of calling them terrorists he called them bandits. Buhari was sympathic to their cause because they are his kind. Before the coming of Buhari as a president, only Buhari state had issue with insecurity. State like Sokoto, katsina, Zamafara, Kaduna , Kebbi were very peaceful, he came and empowered the fulanis to chase away the indigenous Hausa people. The worst NSA in the history of Nigeria is Gen Mungono. Under Buhari, Kuje prison had a prison break, Kaduna to Abuja was a no go area, train was involved attacked under his watch and passenger abducted.
