Every sunday without fail, millions of Nigerians troop to churches in the southern part of Nigeria not out of their love for God but mostly out of a search for hope to survive a failed and broken system characterized by greed, lust for power, insatiable appetite for money and a desire to be a 'lord and master' over others. It is no longer news that Nigeria is a failed country. This was evidence in the recent outburst of President Donald Trump calling Nigeria "a now disgraced country"

Now the question that begs for answers is "Why has Nigerians not revolted and protested against the inhumane treatment from their government? The answer stares you in the face - "The Church". The first thing we must note is that churches in Nigeria unlike the first century church is run like a business enterprise using the franchise model for expansion. Their main goal is to sell you HOPE while they milk their congregation from their hard earned money in the form of;

1.) Seeds
2.) Offerings
3.) Tithe
4.) Partnerships
5.) First Fruit
6.) Building Project
7.) Pastor's birthday

Popular lines from most of them are: "
"This week is your week"
"I see somebody returning next month with a testimony" and the whole congregation shouts a thundering "Amen".
"Celebration will not leave your house"
"Doors of favour and opportunity are opening unto you"
"You will receive that call this week"
"That person owing you money will call to return the money"
"You will not have an accident this week"

On and On and On the false prophecies and prayers go with the congregations charged as they shout "AMEN"

For millions of Nigerians, they see this false hope as a supernatural intervention in the form of an escape from the woes and failures of their government forgetting that God will not do for man what man can do for himself. Since the corrupt government has silently learned of this powerful psychological means of controlling the population, they have now befriended and induce many of the popular Pastors/GOs and their 'sons' and 'grand sons' in ministry to keep the people continiously hoping for a better tomorrow which will never come while they loot the nation's treasury dry and share the crumbs with these so called "Pastors" who in turn milk their congregation.

To buttress my point (at the risk of offending many of you) imagine the millions of people being indirectly influenced from Aso Rock using your popular Pastor and their sons. Imagine the millions of people being indirectly influence by;

Daniel Olukoya of Mountain on Fire
The Anglican Church
The Catholic Church
On and On and On the list goes....

Now make no mistake, even though some of these Pastors openly speak against the government from the pulpit, they have a back door relationship with the Politicians and government to help keep the people from protesting and rioting - reason I call them hypocrites.

My understanding and theory therefore is that if the restraint - (the corrupt church pastors) is taken off, all hell will break lose leading to a revolt against the government and the liberation for Nigeria will come quickly - howbeit, not without a price. We must note that the north is already a boiling pot and the muslims have no problem whatsoever with a protest. Their only problem is illiteracy and lack of critical thinking.

Poor Healthcare
Poor Roads
Road Accidents
Power Failure
Unemployment
Inflation
Poor Education...

Every one of the above are man-made problem and God will not come down to solve it for any nation. He already gave us intellect to use. So when next you hear a call for "A national day of Prayer to pray for the Nation", or a cold silence from your dear MOG, know you are being indirectly influenced by the government to be docile.

The church is not the only one keeping the government on its toes. The media, civil society organizations and many more are also doing great jobs.

The Ill effects of religions in Nigerians should be a case study.

While the Islamic madness is raving the North armed with the idea that they must fight for their god,the Christian south are fasting and praying waiting for a supernatural intervention from their god.

Instead of you calling communities, you retorted to Churches for the reasons best known to you. Whatever you want to achieve, begin in your community and leave the body of Christ alone. Every member of the church belongs to a family and a community.

Leave the Church alone. Umu ekwensu.

Schools are agents of social change, the same way religious organisations are. Please start your clamour for change from schools, tertiary, secondary and down to primary schools.

Imo State primary schools protested against Rochas Okorocha's abortion law and marched on the streets and it was cancelled.

I believe you were offended mainly because your church or dear "MOG" was mentioned. You know, I was part of the system too and now I can't just believe how I was ignorant and deceived for sooo long.

Sit down at home, get a king James plus 3 other simple translations of the bible and take the reading of your bible seriously and prayerfully. Perhaps, light will come. Leave Nigerian churches and their doctrines alone. If you find like minds, meet in your sitting room and share the scriptures for one or two hours once or twice a week.

Nigerians are not interested in revolting or staging any protest against their government. The government is not doing the best but the worst is not the case.

Those who are interested in staging protest can do that in their home regions.

The issue of the protest is not even negotiable
