Osun: Accord Party NEC Constitutes Caretaker Committee by Nemere2020(op): 8:43pm On Dec 05, 2025
Ahead of the governorship election in Osun State, the National Executive Council of Accord, has approved the constitution of a Caretaker Committee for the Osun State Chapter with Pastor Victor Akande as chairman, following the expiration of the tenure of its leadership.

The NEC also approved the Electoral Guidelines for the forthcoming Osun State gubernatorial primaries.

The NEC constituted the Electoral Committee for the 2026 Osun State governorship primaries and expressed confidence that the party would win the election.

It also approved a general waiver for numerous Nigerians who recently joined the party and desire to contest elections on its platform.

The party’s NEC approved the constitution of Women and Youth Directorates at National, Zonal, State, Local Government, Ward and Polling Unit levels of the party which it says is to facilitate membership drive and grassroots mobilisation of citizens across the country.

Accord also lifted the suspension of some members in Osun State in the spirit of Oneness and Progress as it prepares for the gubernatorial election in the state and passed a vote of confidence in the leadership of Barrister Maxwell Mgbudem as National Chairman.

That's is great voting should no longer be a party affair but an individual profile. If this is where our Dancing Governor is going there, we are moving there.

In terms of core values of Democracy, it shouldn"t, but It matters in the Nigerian political climate and context. If Adeoti and Omisore had gotten ADC and APC tickets respectively, we all know how close such a contest would be. Historically in Nigeria, the Presidency influences the scale in States in which its principal ha a stake.

Yes, and that's why Tinubu cousin Adegboyega, a former gov but still desire to govern Osun state again, didn't show interest bcoz he knew that Tinubu is supporting Adeleke. If not he would prefer to resign as Minister to join the guber race.

Is that because 200 million Nigerians are too jaded to ensure our governance priorities are fulfilled by the few who are allowed to emerge from among us into public service positions huh

“The worst illiterate is the political illiterate, he doesn’t hear, doesn’t speak, nor participates in the political events.

He doesn’t know the cost of life, the price of the bean, of the fish, of the flour, of the rent, of the shoes and of the medicine, all depends on political decisions. The political illiterate is so stupid that he is proud and swells his chest saying that he hates politics.

The slowpoke doesn’t know that, from his political ignorance is born the prostitute, the abandoned child, and the worst thieves of all, the bad politician, corrupted and flunky of the national and multinational companies.”

The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy Chief Olawale Edun has said the last time Nigeria’s economy looked stable was about a decade ago.

He made this statement during his maiden press conference as Minister of Finance where he outlined President Bola Tinubu’s vision, agenda and strategy for the economy.

He said, “I think as we all know, we are not where we should be. The economy is barely growing above the rate of population growth.

“But it was not always so, and I think in trying to look at the way forward, if we now have a situation of slow growth, double-digit inflation, weak/depreciating exchange rate, as well as security concerns that are resulting in an economy that is not growing and not taking Nigerians out of poverty.

“If we think back to the last time when the economy was stable- when it was growing, when inflation was low, and the interest rate was affordable, that period was about a decade ago. Growth was about 6% in 2013 and 2014.”

May Day: Hunger, unemployment, insecurity real— Tinubu

According to him: “The theme demands our collective attention and serves as a stark reminder of the need to create an environment where every worker feels safe, valued, and empowered to contribute to the growth and prosperity of our nation. As your President, I assure you that this administration is committed to creating such an environment for the common good.”

On the economic hardship, he noted that while it is a global phenomenon, its effects on Nigerians are particularly severe.

Tinubu said: “I am aware of the peculiarities of the economic hardship Nigerians face—rising living costs, hunger, insecurity, unemployment, and the loss of livelihoods. These challenges are real and demand definitive solutions, which I am poised to address as your President.

Exactly! That's where our problem is as a people. The truth is that, the political class in cohort with religious leaders have mastered and perfected the art of divide and conquer, it works wonder for them during every election cycle. And don't forget, every leader is a reflection of the society he leads.
