Our attack has been stale for a long while but we must blame players. We look rudimentary whenever we attack, like nothing creative. Players look like robots out there. |

iamoyindamola:Eze still doing like e dey palace but why change the winning style of bayern and spurs to accommodate boring Odegaard that feels his loyalty us to the RW movements? |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by daveP(m): 4:55pm On Dec 06, 2025 |
Roland17:Infact if they didn't sign any attacker in the window, it will still look this stale. So what exactly is the style that accomodates these new signings cos the clean sheets were down to the solid defensive pair and Raya. So where's this attack and doing exactly what they ought to be doing? (making teams panic and overwhelmed) We counter attack from deep lately and as ball crosses the centre circle, one can already feel a terrible decision making is about to follow from the ball carrier and it is right 9/10 times |

iamoyindamola:This game proves we're top cos of Gabu Saliba and not cos of the combined firepower of the attack. These forwards act like they no wan gel. The shouts at Saka in that Brentford game is just cos cup don full for how our attackers behave lately. Coach too no dey address some stuff based on how it repeats game after game. Which begs the question The return of the old guys, is it destabilizing or the guys overall are tired already? Rice is overworked and his teammates playing near him are all slack and lazy, not even bringing half his workrate. This midfield combo lacks chemistry right now same for attack. When last we even get PK or better freekick near box? |

daveP:Its time for arteta to switch to plan B if he have any, we can play traditional 442 Merino should partner gyokeres, rice and zubi or odegaard(CDM/CM) Trossard and saka to flank, then the fullbacks should help the defence until our original CBs are back |

iamoyindamola:If you like Talk all these things finish, Arteta will still restrict our offense to corner kicks and set pieces. How do you have the quality of attacking players and size of this squad and just rely on set pieces. The days we don’t get enough CK we suffer. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by iamoyindamola(m): 5:56pm On Dec 06, 2025 |
Roland17:Those making the corner scary for opponents are injured City 2 points behind us but I am still not afraid, they will drop points too we just need to work on our attackers, saka especially is declining and I don't like it |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by daveP(m): 5:57pm On Dec 06, 2025 |
iamoyindamola:Normally the style suppose change as key CBs are out truly. If we get trad 9 why not change style to make the zone where the ball stays mostly to be attacking zone. Villa locked up the passing lanes for our backline well and we gave the ball away so bad, with rice outperforming Zubi overall in the role. Unacceptable! Those two CB replacements can't hold up so they need to take off that pressure from them. Nelli to 9 of possible sef. |

Our attack has been average since Arteta took charge, no improvement at all. If he fails to win anything this season, he has to go. It's true defence wins you championship but Arsenal is the only anomaly. We have had solid defence for three to four years now with no trophy to show for it. I am not convinced with the dribbling and creativity of the likes of martinelli and trossard. It is eyesore watching them taking on players. That's why odegaard always focus more on Saka as our main creative outlet. Teams have now device the means to double mark Saka. We have been fortunate with setpieces for helping us break the deadlock numerous times this season, if not the issue of creativity in our attack would have been glaring for everyone to see. While the likes of trossard and martinelli are scoring crucial goals and helping the team defensively, their lack of creativity is a major source of concern. If we replace gyokeres with Haaland, he won't have double digit league goals by now, that's how bad we are in creativity. I hope saliba and big gabi come back on time. Let's see if we can continue to ride our luck depending on set pieces to win the league. |

BlueRayDick:I was surprised when he conceded the throwing. He was shaky in the game. The issue is his loan with obligation to buy. Saliba and Gabriel should just come back quick cause we’ve been shaky at the back since their injury |

daveP:Let me shock you, Ode was the man of the match winner today... Have always maintained that his play is too tilted to the RHS when we are not playing inverted midfield triangle (attack), I would never understand the rationale behind that... Up next Brugge, If our main guys are not rested on Wednesday then e go sup ![]() |

We move jare, no be Villa again. I knew the best we can get from them is a draw. We will forge ahead with wolves and Everton, Brighton and yes, Villa again . Oddly enough I'm still not worried that city is just 2 points behind us, they're not as strong or as consistent as they want people to believe. A team that conceded 8 goals in the space of a week will still drop points along the way. Arteta is not using his squad depth to its maximum potentialm. He will keep using players till they tried and worn-out and leave their solid replacements on the bench till they become rusty. He needs to rest key players for the club Brugge match and if possible for the wolves match too. The likes of Rice, Eze, Cala, Zubi, Merino and Saka need to REST. The bench players should keep playing till they get to full fitness. I really hope Trossard is ok |

Gabzy1:The bold is not true at all. You can criticize the result of today's match an even blame the coach for the result, but u shouldnt do that with falsity and agenda abeg. In 2023/2024 season we scored 91 goals in the league which was the most number of goals arsenal has scored in the EPL of all times. That was scored under Arteta yet you claim our attack has been average with no improvement since Arteta took place. I understand fans get hurt and frustrated due to the fact that major trophies keep eluding us, but that does not mean we should be making false claims like the team was the same as it was when we had Loserpool beating us 4-0, Man city whipping us and Chelsea always getting the better of us under previous managers. Yes we all hope Saliba and Gabriel will come back to give the team the balance it has few weeks ago. On thing most fans are refusing to acknowledge is the fact that even our open play goals, Saliba and Gabriel contribute significantly to it going by how they start our attack moves. They always stay at alert to have the ball released to Zubi or Rice who would push attack further up the field. When the opposing players try to start their own attack or counter, Saliba is always standing solidly behind their striker to dispossess him thereby overturning the ball to our Midfielders to restart our attacks. If u notice Mosquera and Hicanpie almost always lose aerial duels which puts pressure on our midfield and has led to Rice overworking himself at the back. These little detaiks count. It's nof just about Saliba and Gabriel contributing to our set piece goals alone. |

Roland17:We beat Bayern 3-1, we beat Tottenham 4-1 but we don't have attacking plans because of one loss I thought signing a striker like Gyokeres will solve all the attacking problems Was it Arteta that told Eze not to track Cash for the first goal or was it Arteta's fault that the defenders couldn't force their way to clear to lose ball in their box with seconds to go? Our players didn't turn up. Whether it's injuries or fatigue or whatever, we cannot suddenly blame the manager especially when we are top of the league Let's hope the injured players will return early enough before our season derails Pkease |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Spy360(m): 1:50am On Dec 07, 2025 |
MSGAMBLE9:In the way we play, the overload tactics When Odegaard drifts to the right someone should take up the left AM position. This could either be the LB - Calafiori or the CF - Merino. With this the attack is fully overloaded, and spaces are created for the unmarked inverted wingers who are the designated goals getters or strikers That's why I criticise Gyokeres. He doesn't do that and when he does it's not effective because its not his talent. Merino does that very effectively and we get goals from the inverted wingers like Trossard and Martinelli and even Saka. And Merino isnt even the best we have there. I really hope Jesus or Havertz gets back so that we can be very effective in attack like we saw with Merino recently. |

I wouldn't blame Arteta for yesterday loss though, the loss was the players, from Eze refusing to mark his man and hincape conceding a needless throwing there putting pressure on us that eventually led to the goal. I just want my Gabi-Saliba back please |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by dominique(mod): 9:42am On Dec 07, 2025 |
Shegzdave:I blame him for overplaying the same players till they got too exhausted to deliver like before. What is the point of your squad depth if you leave visibly tired players on the pitch for 80+ minutes and only bring in substitutes for 10 minutes thereabouts, what impact will they make there? It was the Sunderland match that annoyed me the most. He should have brought in defensive players the moment they scored the second goal and play a defensive game till final whistle. He made only 1 substation for the entire 90+ minutes and he watched as tired defenders struggled till they conceded the equaliser at injury time. All that hardwork in those high intensity matches is now taking a toll on the players' form, they need to be rested to gain their energy back. Watch him start Rice, Zubimendi, Merino and Eze against Club Brugge on Wednesday |

dominique:He is not a risk taker, we have a coward as a manager On Wednesday, none of the first team players should start that's why we have squad depth but he won't Players like rice, raya, saka and zubi shouldn't travel with the squad Let nwaneri, dowman, MLS and norgaard play too it's not like these guys are not good enough. They can start in club brugge team as at today |
