PDP constitutes National Caretaker Committee As Tenure of NWC ends on Tuesday

As the tenure of the present Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee (NWC) ends on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party has constituted a National Caretaker Committee to run the affairs of the party, pending the conduct of a national convention.

This decision was taken at the 104th NEC meeting of the party held in Abuja on Sunday, December 7, 2025.

The 13-member Caretaker Committee has Hon. Abdulrahman Mohammed as Chairman and Senator Samuel Anyanwu as Secretary.

Other members of the Caretaker Committee are; National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN), National Organising Secretary, Hon. Umar M. Bature, Dr Kyari Grema, Hon Janguda Haruna Mohammed, Barr. Okechukwu Osuana, Senator Nwogu Olaka, Senator Sandy Onor, Prof Adenike Ogunse, Hon. Bisi Kolawole, Engr Deji Doherty, and Dr Ibrahim Bala Aboki.

The Caretaker Committee has been mandated to run the affairs of the party for a period of 60 days, during which all pending congresses should be conducted and a national convention should be held.

There is NOTHING like caretaker committee in PDP constitution. These are meddkesome interloppers.

These are not members of PDP. They are impostors.

I really don't understand why the founding members of PDP would sit and watch one man called Wike bring the party down. It's really a big shame, waiting for the next party that would accept him

Atiku took the right step to abandon PDP.

The factionalization of PDP may affect party candidates in 2027. I think any right-thinking person seeking election or re-election had better abandon PDP.

As for the folks migrating to ADC, ADC has not shown much promise as the promoters are not interested in building a party and are just after power.

ADC would be factionalized too. And this would affect their 2027 chances. Leke Abejide and Dumebi Kachikwu are at loggerheads with the new entrants who have shown no respect for the legacy members.

My take is that the self-factionalization of the opposition may have handed over power to Tinubu in 2027. There'd be litany of court cases within the ADC and PDP which would mar their chances.

As a matter of urgency, let the people in ADC dedicate their energies to building the ADC. Even if they do not make a good showing in 2027, let them prepare for 2031.

The ADC has not entrenched itself as a brand in Nigeria. If it is such a strong brand, without looking at the internet, what is the colour and shape of the embroidery on the shaking hands of the ADC logo?

Seyi Makinde's desperation for national political relevance will be his biggest undoing. All the northern governors that are pushing him will do to him far worse what Tambuwal did to Wike.
It's just a matter of time before all of them queue behind Atiku and he will be left out in the cold.

These party need to be revived by taking some strong steps and ready to fight dirty. The hardest enemy to purge out is the within enemies, PDP allowed rubbish attitudes from some members for too long. Now the cancer is getting hard to remove. I wish them quick recovery 🙏

Bro. E go shock you. I am a senior lawyer myself and I can tell you of many worthless SANs. I am not being specific to the people you have mentioned oh. Besides, education goes beyond paper certificates and honors. When we say a person is not well educated, they may have gone to school, but certain cardinal principles are missing. The title "SAN" does not mean that a person is well educated. It can of course mean that they have read a lot of things. There are SANs I know as personal friends who will struggle to put a proper letter together. Some of the people in this world who are most shameless and lack an iota of principle have loads of degrees and honours.
