LG Chairman Refutes Mosque Killings In Sokoto by CyynthiaKiss(op): 7:15pm On Dec 07, 2025
Authorities in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State have dismissed reports circulating on social media that armed men attacked a mosque in the area, killing an Imam and several worshippers.

The Chairman of the council, Ayuba Hashimu, described the reports as entirely false

“I don’t know of any mosque that was attacked, let alone the killing of an Imam or worshippers. The report is simply untrue,” he told our correspondent by telephone.

A member of the Sokoto State House of Assembly representing the area, Hon. Aminu Boza, also refuted the claims.

No mosque was attacked on Saturday. I have no idea where that story came from, but it is not correct,” he said.

PUNCH Online had reported that the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria lamented the alleged kidnapping of six directors of the Ministry of Defence.

The union claimed the directors were abducted while travelling from Lagos to Abuja for a directorate-level promotion examination.

In another report, it was stated that suspected bandits attacked Alkalije village in Yabo Local Government Area of Sokoto State, killing five people, including a pregnant woman.

Alkalije, a border community under Kilgori District, lies close to Silame Local Government Area and shares boundaries with parts of Kebbi State, an area notorious for frequent incursions by Lakurawa bandit groups.

Fair enough. Too much fake news everywhere

Plus, killings do happen in the North and elsewhere, and it is sad the government ain't doing much to end it.

Lagos ibadan liars. Trump has access to reports from Amnesty international, open doors, the red Cross and NANS, the days of using petty lies to manipulate the narrative died with the 2015 election. No more of that nonsense, we are at the business end of things now.
Re: LG Chairman Refutes Mosque Killings In Sokoto by omoredia: 11:06am On Dec 08, 2025
I said it. The terrorists and their supporters want to change the narrative that Muslims are also getting attacked but it didn't work. They are born liars and decievers
Re: LG Chairman Refutes Mosque Killings In Sokoto by Sheuns(m): 11:06am On Dec 08, 2025
He said he has no idea where the story came from.

If we check properly, that chairman lives in the state capital.

The events around the genocide news proves that there is truly an ongoing genocide.

FG and her Jihadi sponsors are just interested in useless propaganda rather than stopping the killings. What a hopeless country

Just because they knew delegates from the us are coming on a fact finding mission, they quickly cooked up this lie...

Thanks for sharing this, OP. It's a relief to hear the LG chairman and assembly member debunking these rumors—social media can spread panic so fast, especially with all the real banditry in Sokoto. Still, the ongoing insecurity up North (like those kidnappings mentioned) needs urgent action from the govt. Fake news or not, lives are at stake. Fingers crossed for peace. 🙏

I know it was pure Propaganda by some people to make it look like Muslims are also being killed in the North whilst dispelling Donald Trump's position on Christian Genocide.

Muslims are bringing up a false narrative so that they can play down Christian genocide. It's funny living in this country.

The reasons why government are not doing much is because of poor tax collection and late subsidy removal from ⛽. That's how you are wired.

And unfortunately it is true, plus you forgot to add that we are a resource dependent economy, and a cake sharing economy, not a productive economy

That's why people like you love and worship tinubu.

Sorry, if it pains you, keep crying. cheesy

Sahara reporters and punchng should sort themselves out.
Even in this punchng report, lives were lost in other incidents too that affected mainly muslim communities.
All lives matter.

I posted the rebuttal link from the punch newspaper when the news was posted here from the Saharareporters but everyone ignored it. I have said it before Saharareporters is not a reliable source of news or information, only people who love fake and unsubstantiated news will have time reading news coming from the website.

This is the repeat of 2014. They keep playing politics with everything, but we can't blame them much, as Tinubu is part of those who did the same in 2014.

Nothing like politics, this has been ongoing for years.

If na politics, dem suppose stop since .

Banditry started with the gold mines being unregulated...that's around 2005/6, and things got worse over time. Add the fact that populaiton is growing, farms are being established in areas that were not farmland 70 years ago, and then the fulani members of Ghaddafi's legion came back when LIbya fell, and you get the picture.

Above all, for years governments past and present did not plan for the future, ran an economy that did not generate jobs and did not even plan to make things better...and here we are.
