COMMUNIQUE FROM THE CONFEDERATION OF SAHEL STATES (AES) REGARDING THE VIOLATION OF CONFEDERAL AIRSPACE
The Confederation of Sahel States informs the public that an aircraft belonging to the Air Force of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, of type C130, was forced to land today, December 8, 2025, in Bobo Dioulasso, Burkina Faso, following an in-flight emergency, while it was operating in Burkinabe airspace. The military aircraft had on board two (02) crew members and nine (09) passengers, all military personnel. An investigation was immediately opened by the relevant Burkinabe authorities, revealing that this military aircraft did not have authorization to fly over Burkinabe territory. The Confederation of Sahel States strongly condemns this violation of its airspace and the sovereignty of its member states.

In response to this hostile act carried out in disregard of international law and the international civil and/or military aviation regulations, measures have been taken to ensure the safety of the confederal airspace, the sovereignty and territorial integrity of its member states, as well as the safety of the populations of the AES Confederation. In this regard, and under the instructions of the Heads of State, the air and anti-air defenses of the confederal airspace, placed on maximum alert in accordance with the Declaration of the College of Heads of State dated December 22, 2024, have been authorized to neutralize any aircraft that violates confederal airspace.

I am not sure that you comprehend the report.

The soldiers were not on combat mission and probably on routine ECOWAS patrol with no previous hostile notice given by Burkina Faso because we are not at war with them. Besides, if it's a combat mission, you can't go on such a combat mission with a single jet. There will be back up jets just like we did when Benin Republic invited us to protect them from criminal coupists.

The fact is that the impostor coupist in Burkina Faso is apprehensive for obvious reasons that Nigeria can dislodge him from power.

Burkina Faso will not dare face Nigeria and ECOWAS for obvious reasons. They have been at the magnanimity of ECOWAS countries on humanitarian grounds. Nigeria still bailed out Niger recently with about 400 tankers of fuel when they got stranded. Burkina Faso, Mali are impoverished and landlocked, and like Niger, still using sea ports of ECOWAS countries to recieve everything they depend on and even export.

If this report is true, I will not be surprised if our aircraft and soldiers are already home.

They don’t want the Benin experience from Nigeria and the rest of ECOWAS.

It's nice to know that ECOWAS is now taking the fight to them after Benin.

AES is basically saying “no more warnings. Omo, one wrong move in that airspace now and it’s over.

In the military its called Aerospace control. A military unit in a plane will hover your skeis monitoring & collecting intel without your knowledge.Countries with weak defence are subject to foreign interference. That's why America has all the intel on nigeria. The fly the UAVs in & out without us knowing like they buying tomtom. Same with maritime control- submarines will be in a country's water gathering intel and extracting assets.

That writeup was very direct and was not hard to comprehend. Is understanding an issue for you? Anyway it's normal with Tinubu supporters.

In summary...

Your airline violated airspace without informing the host nation of it's intended flight path. They forced it to land and your plane and soldiers are in captivity.

Is that not simple to understand?

The question you should ask is this...

What are these soldiers doing in the Sahel
Who gave the go ahead for the departure.
Who were they going to meet?
What was the purpose of the trip

As regards your hubris concerning recon. You can't violate a countries airspace, when it's obvious the country is Not your friend. To these countries ECOWAS is DEAD.

Go school ..na IGBO obsession no make you know book

Re: 11 Nigerian Soldiers Detained For Violating 'Burkina Faso Airspace' by esnbrutality:
That person is always feeling educated but na confirmed empty barrel.

How can a C130 leave NIGERIA and even the Chief of Air Staff doesn't know about it? C130 is not a regular airline ooo. It moves equipment and personnel seamlessly.

How can they fly a part way above countries that are hostile to ECOWAS and even France that TINUBU is friends with?

What makes you think it's not COUP plotters that left the country to go and strategize?

The Sahel breeds a lot of JIHADISTs and as things stand in NIGERIA. Even TINUBU is not sure of his own safety. He has refused to leave Aso Rock since the Coup scare.

His moves against NIGER REPUBLIC are still fresh in their memories. Remember that most Northern Senators and people of influence from the north told him NOT to invade NIGER REPUBLIC and now his Military is trapped in a country that have bilateral agreements with his enemy called NIGER REPUBLIC.

I can Beat my chest that TINUBU and his crew aren't incharge of the Military. He just appointed his brothers thinking they can save him.

I even remember a picture of gbajagbiamila with bulletproof vest. grin

That is why they are doing everything to please the North by sabotaging the whole South.

Nnamdi Kanu is a prime example of what they use as a bargaining chip.

Anyway..all their moves are pedestrian and it shows that with all their sophisticated noise, they are really empty.

Last week Burkina Faso’s government has decided to reintroduce the death penalty for treason, terrorism and espionage.

Now you know what will be the fate of those Nigerians soldiers. When a military plane lands in enemy territory, the aircraft is seized

as war booty, and the crew are typically taken as prisoners of war (POWs)
Re: 11 Nigerian Soldiers Detained For Violating 'Burkina Faso Airspace' by esnbrutality: 1:49am On Dec 09, 2025
Valid point..but I beg to differ.

What makes you think that those men weren't going to for a mission to realign with their contemporaries, who want TINUBU out?

A C130 plane is not stealth in nature and it's very clumsy for recon duties if need be

Anyway...I just pity those that believe propaganda can whitewash failure.

Interesting times ahead. grin

You badt bro...

Thanks for the translation... The statement is clear as crystal.

They have seized the plane for violating their sovereignty and they are on high alert to shoot down any plane that breaches their airspace.

I just pity any NIGERIAN pilot that wants to act like Rambo. These Sahel Nations are battle tested and their loyalty is much higher than what is obtainable here.

They have weaponry to bring down planes.

Nuff Said grin

Unfortuneltly what I think or you think is irrelevant, what matter is what the military of the Confederation of Sahel States thinks or believe.

The Confederation of Sahel States has the right to seize the Nigerian military aircraft and its equipment as war booty, which means they can

use it or study its technology and attempt to reverse-engineer or exploit any intelligence or technological secrets it contains.

We don't share borders with them. So just make peace.

Any military conflict would trigger total war in 25% of West Africa (Niger and the failing Mali are obligated to join).
