You can debate the appropriateness of the Loan or not, personally as a Muslim myself, I think it is wrong. Islam says embark on the Pilgrimage IF YOU HAVE THE MEANS. It is said that you can't take a Loan nor be owning somebody and embark on that Journey. You must provide enough essentials for the family you are leaving behind while on that journey.

So, the Govt/Governor is wrong to set aside #10b of State Funds as Loans for Hajj. That's my position but to now blame the action of this Governor or Governmenton Islam is where I think the guy I mentioned got it wrong and that's what I want to point out.

A Governor in Imo State once erected a Statue of Jesus for a princely sum of #500m, we never blame Christinaity for thet but the Governor.

Thank goodness some of them are finally speaking out. I was amazed when one of those governors said religious propagation is his topmost priority above security, education, health and everything else.
The north needs a new generation of right thinking gallant young men to reshape its future, if not there will be no future.

So, why would the Government/Governor here extend any Loans to embark on the Journey when it is clearly spelt out that IT IS WHEM YOU HAVE THE MEANS?

I tell you what, most people will not take that Loan because they know what Islam says on it but the Politicians will turn around and claim disbursement and wallop that #10b.

In all, I say don't blame Islam but blame those who have turned themselves to God's assistants.

When Okorocha spent #500m for Jesus Statue in Imo, we don't blame Christianity but rather the erring Governor.

And in the process normalize your faults and aberrations. Adherents of the Christian faith do not point to Islam whenever their faults are laid bare. Fix this mentality. It will take you no where. What Christians are doing or not doing should be of no concern to you. A Muslim has done something worthy of outright condemnation, but you are busy pointing fingers that Christians do the same thing, as if that is a justification for such action. Change your ways.

In a democracy there is no issue with the people deciding how their own revenues and taxes are spent. If they want subsidies so be it.

However such decisions should be by popular advocacy not a government imposition. When the liability is borne by the people they themselves will find the route to compensating for other underfed sectors.

One of the big problems of our democracy is government doing things no one has asked them to and simultaneously neglecting things the people desperately need.

Try looking at it holistically. The whole country suffers, and subsequently the world, when you decide to trifle your life and money on frivolous things in the name of democracy. In few decades, they'll have many pilgrims and no education, proper health facilities, education, IGR or development. They'll have many wives and children that they can't take care of except pilgrimage. Some of them would migrate as burdens elsewhere and to the nations. Rinse and repeat.

Majority of them have been limited, raised to detest education, to prefer Islamic studies and shariah over development of their state and.
