The harsh truth is, there have always been gay people throughout history from time inmemmorial. Infact, it was commonplace around the ancient world. But even then, the fact was that it was difficult to live as a gay person, even if it was allowed, because not everyone was rich enough to survive without marrying and having children

What you guys are seeing is the result of people in the western world now having far more disposable income than their ancestors could dream of...plus over 20-40 years of people fighting for gay rights and for legislation to allow one to be free to be LGBITQA

First income...before you needed to marry so that your kids would support you in your old age. That was true for most of the western world even up to the early 20th century. The only people who could live as gay were the wealthy which included...a lot of actors and actresses...and even then many did it out of sight.

Second, the western world allows you to fight for your rights ...which is what gays and lesbians did. (Food for thought for nigerians..). It took them decades. DECADES. The freedom you see of gay people being gay is the result of years of fighting for their rights...and now the law recognizes them, which means that a lot of people are now comfortable to be gay and to be free to be gay.

There are gay people in Nigeria as we speak...and they live among you. It's because the laws don't recognize them, plus a gay man living on his own without kids is problematic...and then we are not the individialistic society we are, plus people want the family lineage to continue...so many gay people hide it. There are the gay people who through following religion (christians may know) have been free to live in accordance with the dictates of their religion.

(Also, gays in the developed world got a boost from purging their ranks of those who were using the gay movement to advocate for paedos. Once people saw no one was coming for their kids, then attitudes changed).

Just as there are people who are rich and poor and are both christians, there are gay people that are rich and poor too. There are parents who have never joined a cult and who have gay children, and there are those in cult like freemasons, whose kids are not gay (Queen ELizabeth's father was a freemason, and both his kids were not gay...they married and had children, lol).
