M not here to support anybody. Goodluck or tinubu. LNG also funded the project, But is a federal govt project and it awarded first by OBJ and later Goodluck's govt revaluated it.

this is an old project from Obj..Goodluck's govt revaluated the project and yes Tinubu's govt is about to finish and open the road.

AS president in 2011, Goodluck Jonathan did all he could to ensure South West grabbed the country’s number four seat, including lobbying then opposition leaders from the zone, to no avail. The North West eventually grabbed the seat, supported by South West leaders in opposition to then ruling party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Former Governor of Osun State and now statesman, Chief Bisi Akande, made this revelation in his autobiography, “My Participations” which is currently dominating political and national dis- course.

Aminu Tambuwal, now Sokoto State governor, won the seat, against the preferred pick of his party, Mrs Mulikat Adeola Akande, from the South-West. Defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, then a fledging opposition, which had Akande and his soulmate, former Lagos State governor, Senator Bola Tinubu, as front- line leaders, openly asked its elected members of the House of Representatives, mostly from the South-West, to work against their region and back Tambuwal from North-West.

The opposition party’s support carried Tambuwal through the contest against Akande, then ruling party’s favourite for the speakership seat.

In his book, Chief Akande revealed that former president then as incumbent, personally reached out to Tinubu, who is now believed to be nursing presidential aspiration in 2023 and himself, but couldn’t convince them.

He wrote, “President Jonathan, immediately after the meeting (with political parties), called Bola Tinubu aside into a lobby to broach the matter of ACN support for a choice of who would become the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

“That same day, President Jonathan talked to me on phone about the same matter. He disclosed that PDP had zoned the position to the South-West but that only one Muraina and another Mulika won elections on PDP ticket from the zone into the House of Representatives.

Are you in Nigeria in 2014? As at 2014 December when Jonathan awarded the Project it was already clear he cannot win the February 14, 2015 election. Campaign was already tough. No payment was made for the Project.

Another Project Jonathan made efforts to start is the Lagos Calabar Coastal Railway line but payment was not made. People forgot that project but started to make noise when Tinubu started the Lagos Calabar Coastal Highway Projects.

Lagos Ibadan Expressway reconstruction was also awarded in 2013 but nothing happened until 2014 last quarter because of February 14, 2015 election. No payment was made. The election was later shifted from February 14, 2015 and he lost.

Very nice. Much needed development, I hope they won't use the usual bad maintenance culture to ruin it.

The terrain is not the same. The Bodo-Bonny road is a bridge like road built across the ocean to connect two communities. While the Lagos-Calabar road is a land based interconnected highway. And both require different engineering strategies.

You need to check the map of Nigeria and see. It's only the Lagos section or may be Ondo that is land based. The rest are a mix of land and swamp(similar to Bonny Bodo road)

You should be talking about the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway project and not this one. Because GEJ was the one who awarded it and it started during PMB tenure and it was that government that allocated the funds for the project. GEJ allocated the initial funds and this project has nothing to do with the PBAT regime apart from the fact that he commissioned it, that is the reason why your politicians always rush to commission projects even when they have not finished it, and the contractors, in turn, decided to abandon i,t and we deal with a lot of abandoned projects in Nigeria. because of the mentality of an average Nigerian like you. Critical thinking is very far from you guys.
