Your hatred for Mr President is out of this world!

It's so bad that you even hate your country in the process.

Guy, take a deep breath and ask yourself if the step taken by Mr President is so bad that he deserves to be impeached.

The coupists struck on a Sunday when the legislature where not sitting and the President had an emergency at hand.

In the circumstance, the President couldn't afford to wait for the approval of the Senate before rising up to the occasion.

He promptly did seek for the approval of the Senate the following day.

So, what are you blabbing about?

Besides, what happened to the "doctrine of necessity"?

@hotseat
Hatred? That’s your defense of a constitutional question?
This is exactly why institutions weaken every criticism is dismissed as hate, while the real issue goes untouched.

Let me make it clear and concise, that the coup happened an excuse isn't an excuse

Section 5 and Section 217–218 are explicit: the President cannot deploy troops outside Nigeria without National Assembly authorization, except in situations directly affecting national security within Nigeria. Even then, the law still requires prompt legislative oversight.

So the real question is this; Did the President have legal authority to deploy air assets to another sovereign country before seeking approval?
If yes, show the constitutional provision.
If no, then the National Assembly has a duty not a favor to investigate.

And about the doctrine of necessity.

That doctrine is not a magic wand to justify every executive shortcut. It was invoked in 2010 under an unprecedented constitutional vacuum. There was no vacuum here only a President in a hurry and supporters allergic to accountability.
Nobody said the President deserves impeachment; the point is that if an investigation proves a constitutional breach, then the constitutional remedy must follow.
That’s not hate.

That’s how lawful democracies work.
This is Nigeria, not a monarchy.
The Constitution not emotions, not urgency, not presidential supporters is the supreme law.
So before shouting hate, at least address the lawful question that was asked:
Was the deployment constitutional or not?
Everything else is noise.

..but when 200 people were killed in Benue state by terrorists the president did not say anything but kept quiet for many days until Nigerians started to complain of the president quietness over the killings in Benue state before he started to respond to the situation... and the same president cannot deploy fighter jets to the bandits and terrorists hideout in the forest or even sambisa forest where Boko Haram are... and when bandits and terrorists attack, terrorize, kidnap and kill innocent Nigerians the military men do not respond even if they call the military men for help

How exactly was the invitation communicated?

Even if Nigeria received an invitation to participate, does the constitution permit the President to unilaterally deploy air assets and military personnel to another country without National Assembly authorization? That is the core issue, not the vague explanations being offered by Bayo Onanuga

The National Assembly must thoroughly investigate whether this action, along with others, constitutes a breach of constitutional obligations. If the President is found to have violated the Constitution, the impeachment process should commence without delay.

Good that you now agree with my observations
What observation?
I am Igbo and I don't think it's a good idea for Benin to have military regime.
All the Northern countries that borders us have been taken over by miltary, it just remains Cameroun and Benin.
Cameroun is a disaster waiting to happen and Benin can't be allowed to have gun wielding Idiot.s controlling borders to Lagos.
Things could be far gone by the time National Assembly convene to discuss this.
I support Tinubu on this. We can't be sorrounded completely by militarized countries, we could be invaded any moment if that happens.

Those who are talking about Benin sovereignty completely forgot about same sovereignty when they thought they could invite Us troops to invade Nigeria.

We have been seen through them for years, they have pulled several stunts which with vigilant eyes, we quenched all.

As the election is approaching, we are keenly monitoring their movement, their narrations, their antics as they are hell bent in seeing the destruction of Nigeria only because they don't like the president.
so you guys love nigeria but decided to vote for buhari a well known Fulani supremacist and terrorist sympathizer who appointed another terrorist sympathizer called isa pantami all because you guys hate Jonathan ,what did you say when Apc member confessed they import Fulani bandits from other African countries?what your accused other tribes of doing your tribe started it if you accuse others of drug tinubu forfeited 450,000 dollars to the USA government,if you accuse others of ritual you remember no grave is safe in SW
