Governor Ademola Adeleke can defect to ADC and he is welcome.

However, Governor Ademola Adeleke cannot defect to ADC at this stage—after the sale of forms has closed, screening has been concluded, and the primary process is already underway—and still obtain the party’s governorship ticket.

Both party rules and INEC regulations do not permit such a move.

The only legal window through which he could have joined the race and legitimately sought our ticket was before the following stages:

i. Sale of forms
ii. Screening
iii. Submission of delegates list
iv. Conduct of primary

At the stage we are now, with the primary election already fixed for December 15 (7 days from today), it is too late for any new entrant into the ADC Guber Primary Race.

A new person cannot come in because such a person:

i. Did not buy forms
ii. Did not undergo screening
iii. Was not part of the primary process

ADC can still support him even if he contests under another party which is likely Accord Party. The greed within Osun APC may cause them to lose the election, and it could also affect them in the presidential election, just like in 2023 when Adeleke delivered Osun to PDP
