What is the source of Statisense for this data?

Multiple research sources put SW at the top and this is more credible because of a lot of factors which Lagos is one of them.

Multiple research sites and AI overview:
The South-West region generally has the highest access to safely managed water in Nigeria, with Lagos state often cited as having the best access, while the North-East has the lowest; overall, access increases from North to South, but disparities exist between urban/rural and wealth levels, with wealthier households and urban areas always faring better.

Key Findings:
North-South Divide: Access to safe water rises from North to South.
South-West Leads: The South-West has the highest percentage of safely managed water access.

Lagos is Highest: Lagos State shows the highest water access (around 96% for basic access in one report) compared to the lowest (Sokoto).
Urban vs. Rural: Urban areas consistently have significantly better access than rural areas.
Wealth Disparity: The richest quintile has much higher access to water (over double) than the poorest.

Regional Examples (Lowest to Highest):
North-East: Lowest access (around 2% for safely managed water in 2019).
North-Central: High reliance on boreholes, but overall access varies.
South-East & South-South: Better infrastructure and access than the North.

South-West: Highest levels of access, with Lagos being a standout state.

In essence, while the South generally leads, significant gaps remain, especially for rural and poorer communities, even within high-access regions.

Since when has having a access to borehole and hand pumped water become an achievement?

Doesn’t borehole drilling and hand pumped water typical omen of failed government?

How many houses in the developed nations have access to borehole and hand pumped water systems?
Auntie tell yourself the truth. Is there any functioning and centralized government-powered water system anywhere in the Southwest. Is there any functioning water board that supplies water to individual homes in any state in Nigeria?

Like Wike will always say ... If it didn't dey, it didn't dey.

The reason why everybody has left you people behind is because you refuse to accept your reality and work to improve on what you have on ground. You can't be waiting for an irresponsible corrupt government to come and do everything for you

Lagos have nothing to lose as the most populated African city....

You can never count Anambra amongst recognized African cities....

Obi who tried to give Anambra a facelift ended up being stingy with it's revenues.... stored them in the bank while walking about raising his shoulders....and bragging about it while refusing to pay salaries and conducting LGA elections.
is Anambra a state or a city?

Very correct. One of the areas Yoruba people are struggling. The whole of Lekki down to Ajah is too costly to get clean water. If not too salty, impurities or toxins are found. Ede and many other places are on hills that you will dig tire before you can pump a drop of water. And many other factors.

This is why I am always angry with Ogun. Osoba, G. Daniels, Amosun, this one there now called Abiodun no do am well at all. Amosun did his rubbish to the extent of putting the whole of Nigeria in a mess that they started siezing our aircrafts and sending us out of our consular houses abroad. If not for Buhari, that Amsoun should be probed. And it's not too late. 80 years jail for that guy is still like pardoning him. As good and resourceful Ogun is, adjacent to Lagos, they missed everything. The same Amosun discouraged Dangote from building his refinery in Ogun because he wanted to make Aliko pay with his blood. Na so Tinubu hear am, draft the man go Lagos. Even Dangote was shocked the amount he got the whole of the land in Ibeju compared to the forest Amosun wanted to sell for a fortune. The same Amosun slept on having a port despite having access to the Atlantic ocean just like Lagos. Ogun has a tiny opening that links directly to the ocean. And now, the same Dangote is trying to build it for them. Do you think he will ever go there if that Amosun still has power in Ogun? By 2035, Dangote will be top 5 richest people in tje world. Mark my word. But alhaji is getting old and he better sell off everything and donate his money to people that will use it well rather than leave everything in a will. Na there wahala go start. The destruction of the house of Abiola will be a child's play compare to the kind of harvoc and destruction that will befall the Dangote family of alhaji doesn't sell everything off before his death.

Well, it is not too late. Other States in SW needs to catch up also. If not for Lagos, they will rank below SS and most likely below SE too.
Ogun State governors need to step up their game, having industries and yet not fully utilizing the potentials they have.

Also I doubt any havoc or destruction would happen to the family or business... Dangote seems like a smart man who would put things in place to ensure checks and balances in his business.

Besides from my research(I stand to be corrected ) Abiola had many wives, and has about 12 kids or so... While Dangote isn't a polygamist and has like only 3... And they're females... So yeah, I doubt there'll be any "havoc".

I think I can understand why this may be so.

In the South East, most households drill their own borehole due to little to no government provision for water distribution or a failed water board system. Also, you don't need to go very deep in the SE to get clean water, except in Enugu state where the terrain makes it difficult.

While in the SW especially Lagos, the cost of industrial drilling to enable clean water and the likely treatment setup that must follow due to bad unclean water levels will discourage anyone from drilling.
Enugu says hi. Go there and see the reality.

There are more waterworks in SW. That’s why. Sone states in SW still pump water, once in a while. Even if they don’t pump, people go to those strategic reservoirs to fetch water. I have followed my brother out on several occasions to do this in Osun.

The question is: Can his children manage the wealth? Will their boyfriends and husbands not cause wahala? After their generation, what next?

So, you think Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, Branson (UK), who pledged to give away almost everything dont know what they are doing? Bill Gates is leaving behind only 1% of his wealth by the time he is 80 or 85. I can't remember the date he has set. And he will still have $1b which he intends to give his kids. Do you still know how much that is?

The best inheritance Dangote can give is what he has given the girls. Let him just leave some properties for them. Maybe two houses each, some stocks, investments, and cash. He has already set up a family office in Dubai. Yes. I know about it.

There is a course now called "Wealth Management" which involves setting up family offices for rich people. That offices handle most things. Jeff Bezos has it too. And the one for Zerkaburg and his wife (Facebook) is doing so well...I think his wife handles it.

But still...if I was Dangote, I would give away 70% - 99% away. Wealth works well while he is alive cos he is thebone who understands more than anyone the secret behind it.

Why boreholes in the 21st century for the giant of Africa?

Why are our governors failing to employ engineers, technicians, administrators, billing clerks etc to make sure that every home has access to pipe borne water?

What do you think the 150 governors of the last quarter century are doing to the trillions budgets yearly huh

Re: Zones That Have Access To Water Supply, From Top To Bottom by nobaga: 2:46pm On Dec 10, 2025
Lagos State Water Corporation may not supply water continuously but does on a continual basis to some areas. For example Surulere has water supply, so people pump into tanks when available.

Some estates have their own water. The Water Treatment plant in Aja supply some estates but I think it has been down for some time.

What I can't understand is when boreholes become an achievement. Boreholes close to the toilets within the same house may not be healthy unless treated.

Nonsense, what do they mean by "have access to borehole/hand pumped water"?

If my neighbour has a borehole and allows the street to use it for free, is the whole street counted as having access? How exactly is this measured?

As an example, in my younger years, a relative lived in the next street and I could access their taps for free at any time while others paid. Who is counted as having access or not having access by statisense in this scenario?

Clearly another silly Obidient South East is better than South West BS that has been caused by President Tinubu defeating Peter Obí at the polls.

I notice the usual suspects are already here gloating over an obvious falsehood, who do una dis, Obidients?
