I'm a private school teacher and I can say that I earn more than some people in others fields, my colleague earn up to 1.5million and she is a private school teacher. Just make sure you are good in what you're doing and don't think all teachers are thesame. Beside, you don't know who God Has planned for you to marry, again don't think that all those with big occupations are earning well or will make it big

you are right too. They have onshore and offshore but I know my dad is an onshore worker because he worked inside water (vessels) and that makes him spend 3months but is like offshore is just 2 weeks on and 2week off because they deal with pipelines maintainace or something like that

1. There is no Mainstream. It is Mid-Stream.

2. Those who work on Land oil facilities are working Onshore.

3. Those who work inside the Sea, on rigs, on submarines, and on vessels, are working Offshore.

4. Upstream means all petroleum trading activities that happen inside the Sea. Like Crude oil exploration, and exportation stuffs.

5. Mid-Stream means all petroleum trading activities that happen at Refineries and around it.

6. Downstream means all petroleum trading activities that happen on Land like petrol stations and gas stations, etc.

But you can recheck from your dad, and I will also like to learn more from him too.

Oh I now see where you are coming from. But if your dad works Onshore and spent 3 months out of home, then there is a project they were working on. It does not happen always. Most onshore oil and gas workers go to work from their house everyday. It's only offshore workers who have to spend weeks out of their house like 2 weeks every month. Rotation.

1. Yes, the word is Mid-Stream and not Main-stream.

2. No, I never mentioned that "both the sea and land are called offshore". I said that the land is called On-Shore (On-Land), while the Sea is called Off-Shore (Out-of-Land).

3. You are asking why some oil workers spend only 2 weeks, outside their homes, while others spend 2 months, 3 months, and more? Well, the 2 weeks to go to Off-Shore work locations, by Off-Shore workers, is a standard practice all over the world and it is fixed.

But if an Onshore worker spends 2 months, or 3 months, or more outside his or her home, these are the 3 possibilities:

1. They are presently working on an intensive project and are being lodged or accommodated close to the project site until that project is completed.

2. That oil worker lives in a private lodge very close to his or her workplace, but may have built or bought or rented another apartment quite distant from his workplace, and that is where you people his family are now living in. Such people knows what goes on inside there and may not want his family to be exposed to that. If you know what I mean.

3. That oil worker has another family somewhere else. Maybe a baby mama with child or children for him. Or a sugar daddy. So when they say they are going off for 2 or 3 months, they are actually going to stay with him or her.

But your dad is not that kind of person. So, it may be either the Number 1 or the Number 2.
