Everyone wants preferential treatment. What's the difference between the police and civil defence? They should get civil defence security! |

Senators should have police protection. They should be exempted. Such a policy should mainly apply to the yahoo boys, empty characters like social media noisemakers (E-money and the likes), yeyebrities like Burna Boy, and other such characters who have no business moving around with policemen. |

johannesburg:We are not talking about "security". We are talking about policemen. Let the celebrities pay for private security. Senators represent an arm of government, whether you like them or not. |

It is not actually the protection but what the police are used to protect that is important... If you know, you know.... |

Published on 20 October 2017 Credit: David Ajikobi "Amid grinding poverty, a Nigerian senator earns “US$1.7 million annually”, Oyebola said, “far higher than the US$400,000 yearly income of the US president”. “Even a member of the house of representatives also earns more than the American president. What a tragic and pathetic situation!” he added." |

Why is it so difficult for you people to get private security? What's your problem? Shouldn't you be leading by example? This is an opportunity for the private security industry to boom; generate more revenue for the nation, but we hardly think. SMH! |

Kennitrust:Let them use Civil Defence. If they had done their oversight function well, the insecurity wouldn't have gotten to this stage. I feel no pity for them because they are complicit in making Nigeria insecure. |

Hamachi:I have done my findings and can categorically tell you that except from the leaders of the both houses, congressmen and Senators do not have 24 hours security attached to their office. They practice "Threat Assessment-Based Protection" once in a while. |

Hamachi:Maybe you should do the findings. No sane nation has soldiers and Policemen routinely serving as bodyguards to politicians and elected leaders... NONE! That's not their job description. Anyone who needs protection should hire private security outfits... It's that simple. I understand that you are not used to good leadership as a Nigerian that has never travelled out, but learn to listen when better exposed people are talking. |
