He is taking everything to the West as if that is the only place Nigeria exist. The South South where the oil comes from that is used to keep the heart of this country beating is bleeding of development - nothing is happening over here. Some days back, a commissioner in Lagos state was protesting why the ports authorities should divert some of the container ships to the Warri ports, a port that has been dormant but have the capacity to handle such cargos, then you begin to wonder the kind of people we share this country with. The PH, Onne, Calabar ports are all dormant with nothing going on there. The Ibom deep sea port have not been given attention by Tinubu because he doesn't want anything that will decentralise the Lagos corridor. To talk of the dredging of the River Niger to give way for Onitsha port is a thing for another century. This is wickedness to other component parts of the federation. We are not crying because anything will change but let it be on record and let everyone, the whole world see how a country is being run aground by tribalism because a time shall come when another Pharaoh who do not know Joseph will also mount the throne. |

Tomorrow they will be quick to claim how Lagos is their own and how Tinubu created it,without acknowledging that most infrastructures and key establishments in Lagos are federal government projects, using our common patrimony. Anyway, there is no problem,as long as Lagos is 'no man's land'! |

Gotocourt:the traffic in that city can't be curtailed by coastal road the population is too much every junction is a market, people and cars compete for space, it's dirty, everything shouldn't be about money A city close to 30m people, should be thinking about decongestion, not refineries and more airports.. they can pass this to other cities |

You'll see some people come here to shout "Lagos generates the largest revenue in Nigeria", "go back to your state". Can you now see why Lagos generates the amount it does? Lagos trives because all the other 35 states in Nigeria feeds it. Lagos is in Southwest, it's indigenous people might be yoruba but "Lagos is a no man's land" because every Nigerian made lagos what it is. |

emkz:You want to divert attention from the main issues, the same people whom are complaining that Lagos is overstretched and is congested, keep pushing all major federal government projects and establishments to Lagos, its only natural that more people will flood the state,as workers and others that will benefit directly and indirectly from such will head to Lagos ASAP. I don't think this is the way to decongest Lagos, this government is creating a bigger problem for Lagos,in an attempt to acquire more for their region. |

hatchy: cry cry baby…. Lagos is the commercial nerve centre of the country hosting industries, banks, insurance companies and also the busiest port. Were you expecting them to site the headquarters of a bank that service the need of most of those industries in your village? And btw is SS the only region that produces crude oil? The last i checked, Ondo is also an oil producing state and also Lagos and Ogun have oil reserves too and Sw is the region with the highest non oil revenue such as vat that are also being shared to other state yet you don’t see us crying the Lagos to calabar highway is connecting almost all the states in the SS, is that not also a good development that will open up the region for industrialisation? You clowns should stop being emotional and stop with the cries abeg ![]() |

AustineE1:Historically, new cities are developed to decongest big cities, which is the reason for the Eko Atlantic hub and Lekki Free Trade Zone. With the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway and train tracks linking Lagos and Ibadan, people can live in other states and come to work in Lagos. In many countries worldwide, there is that one city which is the hub for economic activities. It is mostly New York for the United States, Amsterdam for the Netherlands, London for the UK, Paris for France, Johannesburg for South Africa, Brussels for Belgium, Ontario for Canada, etc. Lagos is that city for Nigeria and her impact on the Nigerian economy is known as Lagos competes and outplays the economies of some African countries year on year. The way to make other cities attractive is to create economic hubs to attract people. For example, Peter Obi could have supported the transformation of Nnewi into a huge factory for making shoes, textile, machinery, agricultural tools, etc. You think people would not flood there? Build a fertilizer plant or juice factory that pays well in Osun state and see if people won't flood there. Build agro-hubs in Benue state and see movement. Do not blame Lagos, blame the visioners who failed to develop their states. |

Misappropriation of funds remains endemic in Nigeria. BOI already has a functioning huge office in Marina, Lagos Island. Why spend huge funds building another? Go to UK and see government offices in buildings constructed in 18th and 19th centuries, still being used. We like demolishing and restarting in this part of the world. Come to the old GRA Port Harcourt, some of the iconic gothic colonial buildings have been demolished. Sometimes, you may not need to demolish an old iconic structure. You simply need to upgrade it and still retain the old structure to tell the story and history of the building. Anyway, everything is about contract in Nigeria - whether it makes sense or not |
