*Current IDLE AIRPORTS IN NIGERIA 🇳🇬‼️✅* *1. Dutse International Airport*: *Completed in 2014 but has no commercial operations, except for occasional pilgrim airlifts and VIP travels. The busy Aminu Kano International Airport is too close to Dutse Airport, Airlines prefer landing at Aminu Kano International Airport.* 2. Ekiti Airport*: Under construction since 2019, with a promised completion date of 2022. Now functioning but Akure Airport is too close to her. I learned that the Air fare from Akure to Lagos is about N400,000 per a trip, that's too expensive. 3. Yobe International Cargo Airport*: Embarked upon in 2017, with a cost of at least N18b. Completed but Airlines prefer landing at Maiduguri International Airport. 4. Ilorin International Airport*: Has limited commercial operations. 5. Katsina Airport*: Has limited commercial operations. 6. Makurdi Airport*: Has limited commercial operations. 7. Minna Airport*: Has limited commercial operations. 8. Yakubu Gowon Airport*: Has limited commercial operations. 9. Lekki-Epe International Airport*: A new international airport in Lagos, expected to be completed by 2025, with the capacity to handle 5 million passengers annually. It will become popular as it will serve Ijebu Ode, Epe, Ibeju, Lekki, VI, Ikoyi and Lagos Island. We are about to end 2025, the status is unclear. 10. Anambra International Cargo Airport*: A recently completed airport project in Umueri, Anambra State, featuring a 3.7km runway. 11. Bayelsa International Airport*: A new airport facility in Yenogoa, Bayelsa State, initiated and completed under the administration of Seriake Dickson. Has limited commercial activities as Airlines prefer landing at Port Harcourt. 12. Lafia Cargo Airport*: A multi-billion naira airport commissioned by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2022, featuring a 2.1km runway. 13. Ogun Agro-cargo Airport*: A brand new airport project completed in Ogun State, strategically located near two major highways. The State Government is aggressively promoting the Airport and has floated Gateway Airline. 14. Victor Attah International Airport*: A completed airport project in Akwa Ibom State, with a new international and smart terminal under construction . Ibom Airline is bringing life into the Airport. 15. Obudu Cargo Airport*: A priority project in Cross River State, featuring a 5.6km runway, potentially the longest in the world. 16. Ebonyi State International Airport**: An airport project undertaken by the Ebonyi State government, completed with a 3.4km concrete runway. The main building has multiple colours. It is unfortunate that the beautiful Airport is idle. Umahi Government tried to subsidize Airlines landing there but the current government stopped the subsidy. Just imagine carrying 2 passengers from Abuja to Ebonyi but the State Government paying for all the empty seats😭 17. Ido Osun Airport built by the Colonial Masters during the World War 1. Revived by Aregbesola/Oyetola but dabarued by Ade The Governor. *These airports were constructed to boost economic growth and development in their respective states, but they remain underutilized or idle due to various challenges.* *I don't know why our governors are so lazy, unproductive, uncreative people. Why Airports? Many Airports are not enjoying patronage yet they're still wasting Tax payers money on unproductive Ventures. Nothing significant is seen invested in farms but all of them want to build Airports bi alafise. What is the distance between Oyo to Osogbo that another Airport must be sited? What is the distance between Ikeja to Ilisha that another Airport must be constructed? What is the distance between Ondo to Ekiti yet Another Airport? Many of these Airports are wasting away. Our governors must stop these reckless spending of Tax payers money. Some of the Airports are completely unnecessary.* *Above is the approach to the Ebonyi International Airport.* Copied |

Anambra airport is hot cake. Mind you, igbos don't land on Asaba anymore, they prefere Anambra airport which is more closer to their various towns.. Lot of travelers landed their in December. So the place is functioning well. You think Soludo and top Anambra dignitaries will drive to Asaba whenever they want to fly to Abuja? |
