Mass Defections To Apc Signals Great Health by kayjordan(op): 1:44pm On Dec 10, 2025
Call it prostitution, selfishness or undemocratic - I call it "BEING SMART".  It's better to be with a healthy team than with sick teams.

The year 2023 Election has said it all. New parties emerged as living foetus without waiting long enough to be born right and some had a senseless "David and the Goliath" belief system that was long thrown to the Trash Can before they typed or envisioned it.

The mass defection to the APC shows politicians want to be in the winning team. The APC has a structure that has survived its problems - and has a good founding leadership that cannot be replaced. Therefore amongst all political parties on sinking sand, wouldn't it be smart to stay in a political party on a solid rock regardless of sentiments of "PEOPLE FIRST"? - Let me tell you something human: people only work for MONEY! - If that's hard to comprehend then why do most job applicants lie at job interviews about wanting to add value to the organisation? The answer is SIMPLE:  "They Simply Need/Want the Job" - so they tell the interviewers what they want to hear.

In politics, we are selfish animals at home, at work or in public office. The Bible of Democracy is only meant to be meditated on and not necessarily acted on - same is also applied in Churches and Mosques - not leaving out the general society as well where all are expected to be democratic or religious in their everyday ways, not just the politicians or religious leaders.

SO WHAT'S MY POINT? My point simply is "Drop the Rules and Play the Game". No one is breaking the law if they switch political parties that they feel align or doesn't align with their personal values.

The defections are not only from the opposition but also from the ruling party. That one too shows the popularity of the APC

Just as Ebuka reiterated my last paragraph on here, any politician is free to switch from or to any party of choice. The essence is a strong or supportive party which only the candidate can feel because he's the one running for a post, not the people. And if politicians are leaving the ruling party, it makes the ruling party more popular as bad publicity is still good publicity.

This is all what Nigeria means to you people, Nigeria can burn for all you guys care, as long as you people believe that your supremacist ideology is in progress then you guys are happy, look at Nigeria today does it look like the country of your dreams?

But no, it is not important, your supremacist ideology is more important, so you wake in the morning and boast of having a healthy party while the healthy party is currently in charge of the destruction of your country and that gives you joy, the people that are dying from insecurity don't matter to you, the babies that are being killed from their mothers wombs don;t matter to you, the children that are now orphans don;t matter to you, the millions of people in IDP camps don't matter to you, Nigeria currently has one of the largest IDP's and out of school children in the world but it doesn't matter to you.

All that matters is that your party is growing, Nigeria can be destroyed for all you care...

Re: Mass Defections To Apc Signals Great Health by kayjordan(op): 8:16pm On Dec 12, 2025
Many Nigerians have this same heart felt pain.

First: You must acknowledge parties have manifestoes that concern the electorates (the people).

Second: Aspirants must align with a strong party to deliver their personal or Nigerian dream. Without a powerful, effective vehicle, that dream won't spread past a state.

Third: Elected officers are working. People's expectations are bigger than the political foot soldiers on ground.

Four: The people don't really care about the government nor its policies. They make the work/job of government more difficult through break down of law and order.

Nigeria is working through the 10% of the population which make up Politicians for example; the country needs at least 50% of the adhering population to make the country work to a reasonable degree.

If the country needs the people to work then why do we need leaders, there is no need having leaders...

If we can just achieve the 50% of the population as you claimed then having leaders is totally useless now, imagine where you are telling a failing company that the company is failing because of the workers and not the leaders managing the workers...

What then do we need the leaders for if the workers can all do what the leaders failed to do?

Re: Mass Defections To Apc Signals Great Health by kayjordan(op): 1:04pm On Dec 13, 2025
The country needs leaders in all walks of life. The reason why the country need leaders is to steer the country on people's behalf and that can only work if the 50% population I initially assumed fulfill their own obligations as citizens by obeying laws, paying taxes etc - that's how the population can work for the government and how the government 'in return' work for the people.

Offices that you described also have the same structural problem. Staff criticize the boss for some policies, boss also criticize staff for negligence and many others.

If a company is built on a bad economy, definitely the staff will complain.

If the company is in a shaky low-profit industry, the staff will suffer delayed salaries and complain.

If a company is prosperous, there will be staff that will steal from it. If the company is broke, the staff will blame 'stealing' on the company, if the company is rich and paying salaries regularly, and the staff are stealing from the company, the staff will blame it on the devil.

Company CEOs too are like staff as well - it takes two good heads to make a company work and to avoid situations of the company folding up or going bankrupt.

There's an office culture of "MIND MY BUSINESS" whereby only the boss treats the company like his own but on the other hand, the staff treat the company like a job and can't wait to leave at 5pm. The same principle applies to many Nigerians.

So why do banks not sack all the staff when it fails to meet target? why do they focus on the CEO?

So why are we bothered changing presidents na? is there any need changing them ?

Then there is no need changing presidents now, why are we then wasting our time spending billions to change president every 4 years ?

To do what ? when you claim that over 50% of the population are not ready to support the country to work.

So you are indirectly saying we have been wasting our time changing leaders and also planning to waste our time in 2027 to change leaders?

So are we just wasting our time as a country?
Re: Mass Defections To Apc Signals Great Health by kayjordan(op): 4:02pm On Dec 13, 2025
If a bank CEO fails to perform he is fired - correct. A bank is a smaller institute compared to a larger institution "Nigeria".

There's a guarantee that a high-performance CEO of a bank would likely fail as a President - why:

1. Number of personnel to handle.
2. Large number of portfolios.
3. De-centralized supervision system.
4. Characters of civil servants to manage
Etc.

The banks do well, their CEOs do well, Staff do well but their customers complain...

Same for telecoms.
huhhuh?
The board of directors for banks and telecoms will focus on the CEO because they expect the CEO to deliver and be responsible for the hiring and firing of his team - so the CEO will get rid of bad team members to ensure company's profitability
. If a team member doesn't perform well, the CEO will fire the member to save his reputation.

The board won't change the CEO because the CEO and his team are working - just as the President and his ministers are working. But customers of these same banks and telcos complain and the CEO remains untouched - citizens complain about the President, but gets re-elected again.

The problems of businesses and government are interwoven and they affect each other.

Citizens make a chunk of the country's problems, leaders make a chunk of the problem and that how it's going to be.

An improvement on the behaviour of people and leaders will make a little difference.

But 200 million citizens against 5 million civil servants nationwide (for example) shows the difference - if half of 200 million Nigerians alone are as bad as the 5 million civil servants (TOTAL) - where's the bulk of the problem?....
