They want to make air travels in Nigeria exclusive to the very rich

Actually during festive seasons in other countries, prices skyrocket. Nigerians returning to nigeria during Christmas pay more to foreign airlines due to increased demand.

Not that I support them for the increase though, but your assertion that prices are reduced in other countries is not correct

We need to stop accepting this nonsense.... no increase in jet fuel , no scarcity of jet fuel ...but they are increasing flight fairs by a whopping 300% ...not 10 or 15% ...300% .... that's extortion... why isn't it same price as it usually is....it should be first come first serve basis ... maintain same price of 150k ...if u don't get cos its fully booked then u accept... not taking advantage of the situation..that's extortion....and this happens every Christmas period

Even by American standards 350 dollars for a one hour flight is outrageous....but it ALL depends on when the flight is about yo be booked.

The closer to the flying date, the higher the price.

If you book on the date of the flight it's gonna be way higher.

So a ticket that another passenger bought for 80 dollars 3 months ago will go for 700 3 hours to a flight...based on urgency of the need.

But that does not seem to be what is happening here though.

500K or 100 Million, you decide and take your risk or sit down at your present location.......... 🤣😂

Wow, N500,000 for a one-hour flight?! 😳 That’s outrageous. With the state of our roads and security issues, it feels like Nigerians are being forced into impossible choices. Airlines really need to be held accountable, and the government must step in. Who else thinks this kind of pricing is completely unfair and unsustainable?

Many southern Nigerians have the habit/belief system of trying to socialise other people's businesses, but practice capitalism in their own businesses. The cost is way too high, but that is the free market for you. If you want capitalism, it comes with its effects. The same people criticising the rates increased the cost of nose masks during COVID, increased rents for their houses/shops by unimaginable percentages, hoarded food items during Buhari's second term and jacked up the prices of imported goods.

Some even want the gov't to subsidise the cost of airfares as if the majority of Nigerians fly across the country. Honestly, there is something wrong with the majority of "educated" southern Nigerians.

Market forces determine the price of flights airlines are not being greedy, it is simply explained by the principle of supply and demand.

With influx of diasporans for Detty December all of whom are not ready to suffer our bad roads almost all flights are fully booked to the East and because of scarcity of available flights to the SE flight tickets have sky rocketed to N500K .

Airpeace revealed that they had attempted to lease enough aircrafts to meet the demands during December and January, but the leasing companies refused the request for more aeroplanes for no good reason.

Meaning there is an international conspiracy to sabotage Airpeace by hindering their ability to maximize sales during this busy season.
The shortage of flights is keeping flight ticket prices to the SE more expensive than it would have been had airlines been able lease more aeroplanes to meet the customer demands over this yuletide season.

Somebody's annual income o! ..we are so screwed and we don't have the tools for it! ..🤔

When the poor were complaining of high costs of road transportation..high costs of traveling by road .. nobody answered them and government did not care about it..but now they is high costs in air transportation fare...the senate summoned the minister of aviation for questioning and reasons why air transportation is too expensive
