Rivers State House of Assembly lawmaker Honourable Lolo Isaiah Opuende has warned Governor Siminalayi Fubara against using his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a strategy to establish dominance over FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and the state legislature.

Speaking during an interview from 7:49 with Nigerian Info FM, Opuende acknowledged the governor’s constitutional right to change party affiliation. “The governor has right and the freedom to associate the constitution, so he empowered him. So we have nothing to say. If he has defected, it is a welcome development. At least we all can be in the same party and work together for the development of the state if he sees it from that angle,” he said.

The lawmaker cautioned that Fubara should not view his party switch as a power play against his former political mentor. “But if he sees his defection as gaining supremacy over whatever that is when he will start having power tussle with some other person. You will start flexing muscle with some other persons because you defecting from PDP where you’ve lost grip and going into APC where you may not even have another grip is another question to ask because if I am leaving a party I should be able to leave with some structures that will be accepted,” Opuende stated.

Hmmm, wise words, "what if" Sim is lowkey plotting to put his men in the house because from the look of things those lawmakers are still loyal to Wike especially that speaker, that guy is dangerous. Exactly, Tinubu will soon directed all of them to cooperate with their governor or face blacklist from the party. This is what he should've done when the fight between him and Wike just started, may be read one of my posts about the issue on Nairaland back then. Nigeria politics is a dirty game, Wike thought he was fighting Fubara with a genuine federal support, but fail to understand he is dealing with most strategist politician in Nigeria history. Tinubu understand the power of governor to deliver Rivers votes than Wike, he simply use Wike to bring Fubura easily to his side withiout having to promise him anything. That is political masterclass that Wike and other political can ever thought of.

PDP and Atiku fail him when he needed them the most, and I don't think they should bother about his decision to leave the party.

Like, only him(one Governor) will have 100,000 persons advising him on political matters.

Everybody in Port Harcourt turned Governor's SA.

Few weeks later he upgraded it to 200,000 SA's.

Who wouldn’t hate such a suffocating master? Wike nearly rendered Fubara useless. The height was when Wike emboldened Rivers local chairmen to openly challenge and abuse Fubara, a whole governor. If you were in Fubara’s shoes, you will loathe Wike more. Tinubu at least has restored Fubara’s dignity as governor of Rivers state, something he had not enjoyed all along.

All Fubara must now do to stay atop is lick Tinubu’s butt, which is way tastier and more dignifying than Wike’s.

Learn politics and stop demonstrating your lack of knowledge on platforms like this. Politics IS ABOUT LOYALTY and not about political party. This is what those in your ADC dont know, they're not even loyal to one another, all of them just want to be President. All the Rivers lawmakers that joined APC are WIKE loyalists. If you don't understand what that means, you're probably younger than 15 years.
