Obi is the most sensible politician in Nigeria…i love his tactics and patience unlike Atiku…with the way Tinubu runs Nigeria democracy…patience and good calculations is the way forward for an opposition that will stand in 2027…any opposition that stands even without a party will defeat Tinubu in 2027 because Tinubu wants a one party system so there will be no opposition as he already knows he has failed woefully |

helinues:even Obi tell your druggie what to do he won’t do it,does Tinubu look like someone that has the interest of the people at heart? Tell me one meaningful thing he has done since he become president? Just like his predecessor he has done everything wrong and worse, cut Obi a slack at least he has been impacting well in many lives of Nigerians than your druggie |

helinues:For years, I have consistently maintained that Nigeria cannot borrow its way into prosperity. Nations do not develop by consuming more than they produce. They develop by producing, exporting, and creating value, while building strong institutions that ensure accountability and efficient use of public funds. Peter Obi already answered that question but as a typical agbadorian, you cannot comprehend. |

obonujoker:Do you relaize you were owing money cos you borrowed to fund all your various subsidies ? So after freeing up funds by stopping subsidy won't you pay back your loans ? And won't you keep meeting your necessary domestic obligations? It's not everything you criticise, at times logically sit down and analyse issues . If Obi gets there please how will he meet up all the obligations already in place e8ther by bonds , loans or salaries? Please tell me? |

Peter Obi is not an enlightened man or he is deliberately being mischievous. 1) on the issue of where is the money from increased revenue going…renewed hope infrastructure fund. Most of the infrastructure projects going on are ex-budget for those who claim to be educated but talk like they are not, that means the funding for those projects are not part of the budget. Any road or infrastructure project that is part of the renewed hope infrastructure fund is not part of the budget. Where is the money coming from? Increased revenues! 2) I have said this many times. there is no new borrowing, borrowings are approved as part of the budget but you don’t take the loan until you actually need it. When you need it and actually request the loan, people spin ii as a new loan. It is not a new loan. You cannot rightly criticize the govt for poor budget performance and then criticize them for taking new loans. The reason why the loans are late and it seems like a new loan is because the budget is behind schedule in execution so the loans to execute the budgets will be late in requesting not that they are new loans. It is not a new loan request When we hear that the budgets are underperforming but we see infrastructure project being built all over the country, it is because those projects are part of the Renewed Hope infrastructure fund and they are not part of the budget. They are funded largely by the increased revenue the govt is always telling you about. It is the same mechanism Buhari used to execute so many infrastructure projects. I don’t know the mechanism but it appears when things are routed through the normal budgetary and civil service mechanism they never get done on time so priority projects are routes through special ex-budgetary funds and initiatives like Buhari’s presidential task force on infrastructure and the renewed hope infrastructure initiative. The renewed hope infrastructure fund is a special fund that started out with N20Trillion in funding (it may have been increased) . It is outside the budget.

| Re: Peter Obi Criticizes Tinubu’s New Loan Request. by nairalanda1(m): 10:02am On Dec 13, 2025 |
obonujoker:Government is still borrowing because subsidy removal only increased the amount of money available for spending from our income. It did not massively increase our income at all. That can only be done by increasing tax to gdp ratio and productivity. ( Which is why obi might have been the best choice because of the three candidates , he was the only one that spoke about improved productivity) Also most of our revenue for budget comes from oil. Oil has to be above 150 dollars per barrel for us to produce a balanced budget. Right now it has never passed 70 dollars per barrel and most Nigerians are resistant to the idea of increasing tax to gdp. It takes time to improve productivity. So borrowing. No borrowing, then either you support taxation or salaries and wages don't get paid. That's the problem that we have faced since independence |

helinues:Trash. your clueless T-pain government promised that when they stop fuel subsidy, there will be more funds for national developments . this same propandaga induced government also claimed to be generating more funds from tax revenue generations than ever before . this same government claimed to have meet up the 2025 revenue targets . now Mr T-pain supporter, where is the huge fuel subsidy removal funds ? where is the huge revenue generated funds? with all these above admitted huge funds by this clueless government, why are they still taking more loans than ever before, thereby mortgaging the bright future of Nigeria. It's good to hold every government accountable for the good of the nation, especially in Nigeria where official corruption is a major problem, destroying Nigeria. you guys should stop this blind support for the government, even when they are wrong. |
