Mankind2024:I remember Nigeria army gallantly in Liberia, Congo, Sao Tome and Principe... But lately the Nigeria Military has become expert in bullying civilians and unarmed government officials carrying out lawfully duties. We all know what would have been the fate of any Nigerian Police, of law enforcement or civilian who lawfully pr unlawfully detain a member of the Nigeria army. Passengers have been beaten, commercial buses have been burnt and citizens illegally detained for small issues as traffic offense in their barracks. So can the Nigeria Military go to Burkina Faso and bully those army who have held their colleagues for a week now to make us proud and respect them ? |

Mbanda:Yes, it's But 11 Nigerian citizens and a valuable Air asset is been held by Bukina Faso, and u expect Nigeria to just fold it alms as if nothing happened Nigeria has helped many African countries regain freedom and government stability, she deserves some respect |

Sometimes the only way you can score a team is when it tries to attack. If Nigeria attack Bukina Faso, some countries will flank Nigeria through Niger,Chad and don't forget Benin republic still have troops loyal to d coup. It will be good business in West Africa at Nigerian loss. |

This would be a good test run for Nigeria's quest for a permanent seat on the UN Security Council but; 1.They should consult widely before embarking on invasion 2.Seek and get support of key opposition figures (in case of regime change) 3. Gather enough intelligence to ascertain the power of the Burkinabes Army/defence and their allied countries! 4.Collaboratre with other friendly countries before striking! |

Isn't Niger Burkina's ally in arms?. Niger would soon come begging to fetch water again, block them, and tell them to speak to their friend to release our Soldiers. Isn't Mali struggling with a fuel crisis that Nigeria had to come to their aid>, keep that also on hold. If you cant touch Burkina faso, touch their friends. |

Y'all should remember Nigeria military is compromised. Numbers don't really matter when there are sabotages here and there. Na ambush them go take finish our military. The best way to go is the diplomatic path. |

And you know that Nigeria has succeeded in making many of their citizens not to be patriotic due to so many injustices and marginalisation. That's why it's good for a country to treat every of her citizens/tribe well so that in time of crisis or war many will choose to die for their country than to sabotage their country.
IGreat insight!Funny enough, the useless government is not aware of this truth and that is why Nigeria would be better off dissoved ,because no nation can survive without Patriot and at the moment Nigeria has none . |
Why Captain Ibrahim Traoré Is Playing with Fire by Detaining Nigerian Soldiers Many people underestimate the capabilities of the Nigerian military and what it could mean for the government of Burkina Faso under Captain Ibrahim Traoré. Don't be misled by Nigeria's ongoing internal security challenges—fighting Fulani herdsmen clashes, kidnappers, bandits, and jihadist insurgents in the North, or separatist agitation in the East involving IPOB and unknown gunmen. These are asymmetric insurgencies, complicated by local sympathies and complex socio-political dynamics that make total eradication difficult without massive collateral impact. No advanced military in the world easily wins such protracted internal wars. In stark contrast, a direct confrontation with Burkina Faso would be conventional (symmetric) warfare. The Nigerian Armed Forces—Africa's largest by personnel, with superior airpower, logistics, and combat experience—have the overwhelming potential to overrun Burkina Faso's smaller military and, if provoked far enough, enforce regime change in Ouagadougou. Dismiss any notion that Russia's support for Traoré would deter this. Nigeria could establish theater commands in neighboring countries like Ghana, Côte d'Ivoire, Benin, and Togo for a multi-front operation, leveraging regional alliances and superior resources. This detention risks escalating a diplomatic incident into something far more dangerous. Traoré's supporters—often vocal online pan-Africanists and certain political factions—may cheer the bravado now, but they would have plenty to lament if things spiral out of control. There's a fundamental flaw in this thinking.... FIRST OFF, you fight Invade bourkina faso, you take on the whole ALLIANCE OF SAHEL STATES...and by God those boyz have been fighting all their lives, you don't want to mess with them. Throw in the Russians, you have a potent witches pot on the boil!!. Think it through before you get demystified, decimated and be seen collapsing your CORN3 by yourself. Don't take me SERIOUS at your peril. Me?, it will only speed up my heart's desire. |

Kemetian:For those who do not understand what's going on. Nigeria lost the plot when it allowed itself to be led to the slaughter house by the imperialist France who sees the Sahel as it's vassle land. The moment our bombs landed in Benin Republic, we officially became a pariah state in the comity of African nations. Let Nigeria mistakenly go to war with any African state and you'll be surprised how nations will be galvanized themselves it. The disgrace will be official. |

Mankind2024:Apart from Benin, which I am not that sure, the countries you mentioned cannot give you permits to have air base in their country to attack Burkina Faso. There's minus and plus that they can't support Nigeria because Nigeria first find trouble. If you have strong air force follow us example the way they attack Iran. But one thing I assure Nigeria is that Burkina you neglect can attack our aso rock place from Niger republic successful. |

pelumzy007:Sanctimonious holier than thou attitude. You claim righteousness but laying curses on innocent unborn generations. Why curse innocent unborn children because people are reacting to being mistreated by their own government? The patriotism in Nigeria in recent times is largely tribalistic in nature. We saw it during Buhari and now with Tinubu. If Tinubu likes, he can weaponize tribalism again in 2027 and further polarise Nigeria thinking that the only threat he faces are within. |

Op you are spewing rubbish, plain and simple. You played your ball into a man's compound without permission and he detains it, you are giving orders instead of you pleading for him to release it to you, note also that man knows you are in cohorts with another person who he has beef with. Oga even if it was an American aircraft that flew into Burkina Faso without permission, that country has the right to detain the aircraft and prosecute anyone found in it, it is their choice to free the passangers if they deem it. As per the aircraft, that is another story. Instead of naija to be forming bravado in cohort with France (the colonialist) and oppressors of Francophone countries, we should diplomatically engage Burkina Faso and do that with full respect and remorse for violating their airspace. |

Nigerian soldiers are of no value to the APC government, except to quell legit protests. A general was executed in Nigeria, what happened? Nothing of course. These soldiers can spend decades in detention in the foreign country and nothing will happen. The present crops of Nigerian armed forces are just co thieves with politicians, nothing more. |

It must be clear the Traore is not alone on this, in what looks like a test on the Nigerian diplomacy. This is indirectly reminding those internal conspirators that it is time to do away with their political differences and face up to the Nigerian reality. |

No Mankind2024:If the plane was on its way to Portugal as claimed, how did BouboudeLaso came on its path. Assuming the flight captain missed his way did he request to make an emergency landing or was he forced to land in Mali. From information available, the plane was forced to land. It's obvious the France have seen Nigeria as a tool to be used against Mali. Op, Mali has a ready and dependable ally in Russia. I hope Nigeria won't go beyond her boundaries. |
