Lekki is attracting cargo faster than older ports because its deep-water capacity for larger vessels, automated operations, proximity to major industrial assets, and readiness for next-generation shipping make it more efficient and future-proof for high-value, time-sensitive trade. Out of envy and in a bid to frustrate Lagos and the Yoruba, the FGN in previous years and administrations, built and littered Nigeria with white elephant 'political' ports instead of using the funds to upgrade, modernize and expand old legacy ports of Apapa and Tin Can Port in Lagos. Today, Apapa port and Tin Can port have become old , inefficient and not growing while their political ports they littered Nigeria with remain inept. They opposed and literally held down and frustrated the upgrade and expansion of Apapa and Tin Can ports because they hate Lagos and the Yoruba. Smh. Under the visionary leadership of Asiwaju Tinubu as our Governor, Lagos started building her own Sea Port and today owns a significant percentage of the Lekki Deep Seaport. We are pleased to let everyone who stood against us know that "you meant it for evil but God came to our rescue ". We have a port that is not owned by FG that is now displacing ' political' ports and FG's legacy ports here in Lagos. We didn’t wait for you for you to change your mind on holding down Apapa and Tin Can ports forever. We appreciate all those who believed in us. Thank you. In the next few months, our Lekki Deep Seaport will displace Apapa Port and we will all pop champagne to celebrate it. Badagry Deep Seaport is in the works too. This is the best time to invest in Lagos. Visit Lagos today . Invest in Lagos. Lagos is the centre of excellence for leisure and business to enjoy best returns on your investment and the legendary warm hospitality of the Yoruba culture. God bless Nigeria for ever!

JAGABAN, the god of Politics and strategy. Ariwo ko ni Music. Empty barrel lo ma n pariwo. Lagos built Lekki port, but a combination of 5 Eastern states are bullying federal government to build and run a viable port for them. Just noise, just wailing and crying, no action |

simpleseyi:Why is no other South Western state building their own seaport apart from Lagos!? Lagos is Africa's 4th largest economy deu to federal government investments in Lagos. Ondo, Ogun etc. What clipped their fingers? Why have they never built any signature project by themselves.? Let's start from there.. |

Excellent news. Dangote deep sea port coming on board in Ogun state soon as well. Let's not forget Bakassi (Cross River) and the Ondo state deep sea port that were also approved today. Good news all around.

Should Lagos ports be worried about other ports being set up elsewhere in the country? No, it should not. It seems the total trade volume at the ports is about 160 trillion. If trade grows by about 12% annually over the next 6 years alone, that figure would hit 320 trillion. There's more than enough cargo to go round. No one needs to feel insecure. It could even do better than this. The doom mongering needs to stop. There's more than enough business to go round. |

See everything way dey make lagos rich. Na why Lagos no fit complain as to what they get from revenue allocation compare to what they generate. If dem complain, it will amount to selfishness because most of these companies are national assets, for every people and not for Lagos alone. Eg seaport and other businesses own by government that are in Lagos, don't forget other huge investments government is also making in Lagos alone compare to what government spends to other states |

great news from the centre of excellence……while some are still crying and waiting for the FG to come and dredge their river in their landlockecd region, the Lagos govt was being pro active and partnered with investors to build a sea port……we won’t slow down on our drive to develop our state and attract investment just because some state and region refuse to elect visionary leader to develop their state and attract investment,so they can continue hating, it will never stop our progress or take away our shine…….eko oni baje oo btw proudly Lagos ![]() |

grandstar:We love to compete fairly and we will not fold our hands when we see others attempting to hold down our progress because they think we are moving too fast. Apapa Port and Tin Can port were left to remain old and inefficient because FG wants to satisfy those who hate Lagos and the Yoruba. While FG was building new ports all over Nigeria, the simplest thing was to run it along with the modernization and expansion of Apapa and Tin Can ports. FG didn’t do that and rather watched those ports depreciate and became inefficient. We inherited the legacy of excellence. It is in our blood. It is in our DNA. We grew up reading about and hearing of the legacies of "Firsts" by our forebears so we have no choice but to continue in progressive politics of development. |

Imagine after Tinubu is done with Nigeria, we will be grateful we supported him. He has also released funds for other seaports in other regions to be fixed and be in operation sooner. On your mandate sir! |

FreeStuffsNG:What most fail to understand is that there's more than enough business to go around. If trade doubles in 6 years time which is possible, there'll be extra 100 trilion of new cargo to handle. So, what's the fear mongering and whining about? |
