Dangote reduced his price to corner the people, their sympathy and every other things to himself. He then systematically attack NMDPRA, choosing the head, Farouk, for his hits. This guy is simply playing a kind of resistance as it is played out in the movie Money Heist. (simply make the established system the villain, give the populace some goodies to earn their sympathy, then direct them to destroy the enemy, the establishment). In this case NMDPRA which gave licence out to importers to scout refined products from Russia is the establishment. The question is that why should Dangote lose sleep if anyone choose to import their productd and sell at lose? Why should Dangote cry if importers chose to import and spill their products all over the sea?

Another question people fail to ask, what magic happened now that made Dangote reduce the price of his product? Has crude oil price in the international market crashed? Did FG waived import duties or the shipping cost suddenly reduced? All along, Dangote is manipulating the market selling exhorbitantly to Nigerians and now that he sees some guys ar going out to bring in fuel which could compete with him, he panicked, rush and reduced price, and now attacking NMDPRA for issuing licence for importation. What he has been doing is profiteering which is a crime.

Nigeria should wise up, the Greek gift and sudden Santa gifting from Dangote is to weed out competition. And the importers are here to stay. If they can get fuel at a reduced price from anywhere, they should be allowed to do it.
Why should Dangote be worried? You invest $20 billion dollars and allowed traders to just go anywhere in the world to source for substandard products and bring into the country.

With our hard earned fx you use it to export labour and import unemployment. Why shouldn't he as a patriot be worried?

Some of them have been in the business of petroleum importation before Dangote ever thought of it but they didn't remember that it will be more beneficial to Nigeria to refine our products. They preferred quick profit business of importation and they want it to continue.

Between them and Dangote who adds more value to Nigeria? Who has swindled Nigeria more all these years in the petroleum industry?

You even laughed.... thay shows you know d truth and it will set you free. Just like I know mu brother collect ransoms for kidnapper and I kept quiet but the day they kidnap my wife I now start shouting. It's well with nigeria ooo
No your argument is flawed. Everyone knows what's going on. You expect Dangote to come out his brother for the crime that everyone know is taking place?

Is that his job? What happen to EFCC and ICPC.
So you just want to him to create enemy for himself?
Is the president. He's common citizen like everyone.

How many corruption you know happening now.

How many did you call out?

You are smarter than this

What's important is that since we do not other refinery to compete nor Dangote having the capacity to supply us sustainably (Dangote is not having the strength to meet up Nigeria daily needs) , importers should be allowed to import. And competition should be allowed.

He can cry all he likes but competition must be sustained
For decades, over 30yrs we relied solely on importation none of you were pained or agitated for " Competition" .. Nigerians were extorted, expliot, we queue at filling station to get what God as blessed us with, people like you were know where to blow grammar

Marketers/Nnpc enjoyed monopoly for decades But now heaven will fall if the only local refinery we have is prioritize smiley whats your gain or should i ask who are you

Yeah ! i agree will need competition, Is importation an ideal competition for indigeneous producer .. why cant we call for more " Refineries" to compete
From a logical POV we cant put dangote and marketers in the same "class" cos Producer vs marketers are two seperate lines
Why is Nmdpr more vested in granting licenses for import than devotion to promote More refinery setup

Competition is when Dangote refinery competit vs a BUA refinery thats the ideal competition, progressive for GDP/GNP, people and more.

imagine MTN ng in competition with those selling mobile sims ... how does it sound undecided

we dont have a competition yet

Ohh, Nigeria my Nigeria 🥰🥰, imagine Nigeria without the North. We would have been competing with China. From Boko Haram to bandits, herdsmen, kidnapping. E.t.c. God go help us 🙏🙏
Which region first started kidnapping in Nigeria? How is the north stopping the south from competing with China, the south built factories and the north pulled them down? They stole the brain Southerners supposed to be using to do what the Chinese are doing? SMH.

I think he has the upper hand actually, and he's already showing that by cutting price of petrol. What's the essence of issuing licenses if Dangote will keep setting prices? Who's going to be importing at high costs only to be forced to sell at a lower price?

For me i will use only dangote fuel on my benz as benz typically required ron 91 petrol.Anything they bring cheap is poor quality and our scarce fx should not be used for importation of petrol.

Nobody working in the oil sector that's not balling. How will I explain it? I work I the downstream sector. I know how this works; everyone is fighting for themselves first. Yes, there's corruption, and they need to reduce it, but why didn't Dangote expose them until it touched him? It's just like before u destroy me I will destroy you. Game of chess. You see all those guys bringing in product (the cabals); they've been together for a long time, it's like a cult. They will fight with everything they've got. Those guys finished Nigeria with a subsidy. You bring in 3kmt, and DPR will register 5 or 6kmt. The Navy, NPA, NUPENG, DPR, the company, and others will now share the rest. That's billions of naira stolen.
I also worked in d downstream for years being involved in inspecting petroleum products on ships before discharge to tabk farms.i can confidently tell u that d grade of petrol on paper is not wat really comes in.we get bad fuel other countries wont accept

This is what happens when you pay tax. You start to find your voice.

The more you pay the more you get annoyed at civil servants stealing g your money.

Dangote pays N400b every year in company taxes, not o it are they stealing the tax , they are trying to frustrate the company paying the tax

When tax bill comes into effect, everybody (particularly the silent middle/ upper moddle class) will start to find their voice.
They wont understand na...that refinery is vital to our economy.

Many thanks.
Yes he did reduce d price to corner sympathy. That is business.however is wat he said tru or not?Is d refinery vital to our economy or not?do we want to stop his refinery business knowing how mch in tax he brings in?dont forget d more interest dangote refinery rakes in ..d more tax FG collects.

That one is normal thing now especially nnpc products smell like hell. Once nnpc discharge nlmy office window is always locked cis I am asthmatic. I pity those loaders and haulagers alot. Even the milk my company hardly gives them. That why I say every man fight fir his company first before the masses. That's why dey have labs to generate fake lab reports.

Half truth is no truth.
Whatever tax Dangote purportly pays, is been transfered to the end users whenever they rely on the products of the refinery.

I mean, do you think it is understandable and right for him to fight back?

2. The only real competition Dangote can possible face in Nigeria are local refineries. All those who are fighting him now SHOULD KNOW that the only way they can compete with him and have any chance at all is to pull all their resources together and build a refinery that can rival Dangote's in output.

Of course it's okay to fight back, with the kind of capital he pushed into the refinery, you know he's in it for keeps
