A vendor supplied some lab equipment to my lab. When he equipment came in, I asked him to confirm what's on the list with what's on ground which we did. We didn't test the equipment.

Later on trying to use them equipment, I observed that two of them were faulty. I called him and he is telling me stories about how we 'confirmed' them in my presence.

What can I do please? I am pissed off already.

He was supposed to come back for testing. He didn't. So I decided to test myself and discovered the issues.

I called him to tell him about the faults, asked him to come and he is refusing

Now you can only depend on goodwill maybe negotiate if he can do a partial refund or buy another set for half price.

Unless you know exactly what to look for most purchases are a game of roulette where you are sold a refurb item as brand new.
You are applying western good faith to Nigerian transactions.

None that I know of. I think he knew what he was doing.

You fell for his tricks, then.

There should be a warranty or credible reufund/return policy in case of situations like these,otherwise na stress.

Reason with the guy,make him see reasons to the initial checks,if he's still forming hard,carry Olopka or Awua.

My thoughts.

Many many Nigerian businesses are just after your money, and not after your experience. And that's why they always have to find new customers every week. Because the old ones were majorly left unsatisfied

A customer said two items stopped working. Even if they were tested, why not show up to find out what the problem is? Rather you're already screaming that it was okay before you left.

That's why I would never waste my time to look through any page on IG that has "No refund after payment" policy. It means you just want to keep my money. Why can't there be any window to refund, no matter how small it is?
