Dangote Sets Sights On $200 Billion Valuation As Refinery IPO Looms In 2026 by AnonPoet(op): 11:23am On Dec 18, 2025
Aliko Dangote, head of the Dangote Group, has unveiled sweeping expansion targets that would see the conglomerate achieve a market capitalisation above $200bn and generate annual revenues of $100bn by the end of the decade.

The bold forecast comes ahead of plans to publicly list the group’s $20bn refinery on the Nigerian Exchange in 2026, a move expected to reshape the country’s investment landscape.

Currently operating at a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, the Dangote Refinery is poised to play a crucial role in Nigeria’s efforts to curtail its dependence on imported petroleum products. The facility’s output is scheduled to expand dramatically, with plans to reach 1.4 million barrels daily within the next three years, which would establish it among the world’s largest single-train refineries.

The planned initial public offering will feature a distinctive structure allowing investors to purchase shares in naira while collecting dividends in U.S. dollars—an arrangement designed to shield both domestic and international shareholders from currency fluctuations.

Revenue projections indicate that petrochemical exports, including polypropylene and fertiliser products, could generate $6.4bn annually, providing the foundation for the dollar-denominated dividend payments.

The Dangote Group has experienced substantial financial growth in recent years, with revenues climbing from $3.3bn to $18bn over a five-year period. During the same timeframe, EBITDA increased from $1.8bn to $2.8bn.

Beyond the refinery, the conglomerate maintains three other publicly traded companies on the Nigerian Exchange: Dangote Sugar Refinery, NASCON Allied Industries, and Dangote Cement, which ranks among the bourse’s three most valuable listings.

Dangote made clear that the refinery IPO will primarily target Nigerian investors, though the possibility of secondary international listings has not been ruled out.

“We want the Dangote Refinery to be the golden stock of the exchange,” he stated, adding that the company is working closely with the Nigerian Exchange and the Securities and Exchange Commission to ensure all regulatory requirements are met ahead of the listing.

Oya naa... Business man and his goons want to cashout. But it's a welcome development. Let Nigerians own the refinery, let's see how they'll support anyone to sabotage it

God bless you and your hustle.
Shame on regulators who want to destroy this economy and progress through corruption.

Call me a hater, but i will keep saying the truth about this man and his business modus operandi. This man's desperation to force every government agency to dance to his whims and caprices is part of the problem of this country. He has basically stampeded out any potential local competitors in the different areas he invests in. There is basically no regulatory agency that is not afraid of him.

The loose ends in government oversights and management of the private sectors has made the economy so vulnerable and Dangote has been ruthlessly exploiting these. As a result, he may end up the richest man on earth while Nigeria will end up one of the poorest . This man sets sugar prices, sets flour prices, sets pasta prices, sets cement prices and is now the one who sets the pump prices of petroleum products across Nigeria!

This is extremely dangerous!
We are now living in "The Federal Republic of Dangote".

Market cap of $200bn? Of course, it’s easy to reach the moon when you are the only one allowed to fly! First, he tells us the refinery will bring down fuel prices, now we are paying premium prices while he’s planning dollar dividends. He has successfully turned Nigeria into his personal laboratory. You buy cement, you pay Dangote. You buy sugar, you pay Dangote. Now you want to drive your car, you still pay Dangote. This isn’t an 'IPO,' it’s a 'Mandatory Contribution' to the richest man in Africa. We are just tenants in Dangote’s country

This is what he would have done. Allow Nigerians purchase part of it. Everyone tend to benefit then one man controlling the market

And I suspect that is expansion is a drive to purchase 50% filling station across south west and north. And if that happens. The refinery control the market.

Whichever Way You Looks at it,
Dangote Has Now Giving Opportunity For Everyone To Invest and becomes Part Owners Of The Refinery.

Blame your government who can't run our refinery undecided
Re: Dangote Sets Sights On $200 Billion Valuation As Refinery IPO Looms In 2026 by motymop: 1:18pm On Dec 18, 2025
When Dangote Refinery lists, price may not pump immediately. any retail investors buying immediately at launch will lose big time

Early insiders, those that bought will sell at launch for short term profit. Over time, the market will search for fair value and that is where you should enter as a retail investor.

Actually, you are not a hater.

I'm guessing you're either a communist or a socialist when talking about other people's money . You advocate for rich people to level their wealth to "reasonable" levels.

Unfortunately, big profits follow 2 things; large capacity and huge investments. Anyone who has access to these will keep making more money than his generations would ever need.

Note:
Aliko is not exploiting any loophole.
Governments give systemic benefits to companies that employ citizens. The more the citizens employed, the more encouraged you are to keep employing more.

Most Nigerian businessmen are container and shop operators and they wonder why they don't get such facilities. Duuuuhhhh!!

I read your comment and realized how myopic it is.

The $200bn being targeted isn't for Nigerians. It is for crazy international investors who will bring in massive amounts of money.

So, you know, this is how real businesses are conducted; Start-up to Running to Profitability to IPO to Start-up of the next company. It's one of the very first things you learn in a real business school.

Nigerians, very weirdly, like running their small businesses like it's a vision from God, hate partnerships and investors, rather looking for loans so they can chop the incoming profits alone. That's why they stay small. It's a silliness that's borne out of small thinking and stupidity.
