The simple answer is the C-130 cargo aircraft is on routine ferry mission to Portugal for scheduled maintenance.

Try use google before you ask if we can’t do it in Naija, the answer is simple, we don’t have facilities for maintenance of such plane and certified personnel, I know you will like to do some comparison, before then let me tell you say na only 10-15 countries can do such maintenance in the world, u may need to use google to check “ C-130 heavy maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO)” countries that have facilities to do the task.

Wait before you mix it up Egypt and Southy can do full C-130 heavy maintenance (MRO) too, their facilities is not as big as the one in Portugal and they do the maintenance base on the bilateral agreement

I know you don't expect any of us here to have the answer so I would suggest you write to the Defence HQ in Abuja. They would be best placed to respond. Or better still, see if you can find Tinubu's number and send him a text message for a speedy response. Please share with us when you obtain this information.

Anyway they will just go to one local airport in Portugal and land, stay for few days and make U Turn and return, then we clap for them.

I thought they said the Portuguese confirmed the plane wasn’t scheduled to be over there.
