I Was Duped By This Guy In Port Harcourt by Emmanuelcompute(op):
I own a laptop shop in Aba at shopping center precisely.

So it happened that I swapped a laptop with someone, and he balanced me money and also added a Chromebook laptop, while I gave him a higher laptop with higher specs and gen.

So due to that I don't usually sell Chromebook laptop, I posted it on Facebook marketplace in order to see a buyer faster.
Shortly a guy who goes by the name Emmanuel mustapha contacted me that he was interested to purchase the laptop

So I gave him my WhatsApp number, he texted me on WhatsApp and we finally concluded that I would send the laptop to him today, that when he sees it, then he will pay.
So fast forward today, I warebilled the laptop to ph, while warebilling it, I instructed the driver, that this guy haven't paid me any dime, that he shouldn't release the laptop to him without confirming from me whether I have received his payment, the driver agreed with me.

So 3 hours later i called the driver if he have arrived at ph , he said yes, that he would soon call the guy to start coming
The guy wasted time to come to the place the driver was supposed to stay and wait for him, so the driver left and kept the laptop with the caretakers and forgot to instruct them what I told him earlier on

So the guy later came and paid the warebill money and took the laptop with him, since then he is not replying to my messages on WhatsApp or even taking my calls, I suspected that he has even blocked me
Please help me and call him, please I need the money or the laptop back, I don't know what else to do

The driver disappointed you. He should have kept the laptop with him at all time. Make the guy come meet am for his new location.

He was desperate to lose his goods and he lost it.

How can you do payment on delivery service without using the official company that are good in doing that like DHL or even GIG?

Anyway, most people in Nigeria learns in hard way.

😂

Your wahalla is from the mumu driver, I have had goods delivered to me under pay on delivery arrangement through bus drivers and all was well. At this point bro it's time to move on otilor.

Next time inquire from among the park guys (loaders and co drivers) which driver is good at pay on delivery. Those guys on ground can be useful especially when You tip them for the job.

Seeing posts like these just annoys me. Was it not a few days ago that someone posted a similar scam here?

Go and report that driver for acting dumb. I won't be surprised that he connived with the guy to dupe you.

But wait a sec! Who sends goods to buyers without receiving payment first? Not when the receiver has just 14 FB friends. Come on....You can do better than this.

Sadly, someone pointed out that you were in a haste to get scammed. I agree with that person. Did you ask for his real ID? If no, then just count your losses and move on.

Bro I understand your situation...

I'm not trying to be insensitive. But undepression yourself anyway you can. The quicker you can the better for you. Your money/laptop is gone and there is very little or nothing you can do about it.

Move on. Learn from this and become wiser.

If you aren't careful someone would still swindle you from this thread again with promise to help you.

Be sharp. In life learn when to let go of things no matter how important or how it hurts. It would save you a lot.

Sorry, I'm blunt. Sorry for your loss. Move on!

Hmmn...What difference will it make? How are you sure the phone number is truly his? Here is my advice: Go to one of those road side mobile number registration agents to see whether they can dig up any info about him using his mobile number.

But it will be so much easier if you know any one working as a customer representative in the telecommunication company that his number is registered under. Mind you, it is against their ethics, but the idea is to get his real name and pic. You need to arm yourself with a face and a name first before you think of your next plan.
