I have a question. Apart from Blocked Account and Declaration of Commitment letter, won't a contract document as someone working remotely suffice? I don't know who else have been in this situation.
I just got word from the embassy staff that my remote job contract is not sufficient proof. In fact, I was asked to go to the OC website to gather information myself - but the website stated that Blocked Account & Declaration of Commitment letter are one of the different ways to prove that you can take care of yourself.

Mehn, I am in a dilemma here. Who else has encountered such a situation and how did you navigate it?

I have literally two weeks to respond or my application will be deleted.

Did they reject your contract completely, or just say it’s not sufficient? How much is listed as the monthly amount, and did they ask you to provide a full-year Blocked Account or sponsorship letter within two weeks? You should just ask them for guidance since they are in a better position to advise you. Good luck!

I'm in a frustrating situation and need help urgently. My application will be deleted today at 12 noon if I don't resolve this.
The visa officer keeps asking me to change the "Type of Reference" to "Hotel" for my accommodation. The problem is there is NO hotel option in the dropdown.
The only options available are:

Reference person
Educational establishment/company/organisation
Accredited Diplomat

I initially selected "Reference person" but they asked for PR/residence documents of someone in Germany - which I don't have.
So I changed it to "Educational establishment/company/organisation" since a hotel is technically a registered business. Now they're telling me to change it to "Hotel" - an option that doesn't exist.

I've tried explaining this to the visa officer but they keep insisting I change it to Hotel without acknowledging that the option isn't there.
Has anyone faced this issue? What did you select for Type of Reference when staying at a hotel?

Any help appreciated - I'm running out of time.

For the first one, you need to get an affidavit sworn by you at a high court that says the 2 names refer to one and the same person.
For the second you need a signature bearing ID of your mum (driver's license or intl passport). You need to get one of those, I had to get a passport for my mum. You can ask for more time if you need to.

Hi, so for example, if my university is listed and my course is alos listed but not directly under my university, do I still need to do the ZAB?

As long as you can see the exact name of your course e.g. BSc. Business Administration with H+, with the name of your institution, then you're good to go, no need for statement of comparability, just print or save as pdf.

Where people often make a mistake is they think the school or degree type (e.g. BSc.) being listed is enough, which is totally wrong. The name of the particular course you studied in your institution must be listed there.

In the case where YOU cannot find hotel, which is an available option, we cannot provide any further guidiance. We can only implore you to choose the right ref. type & fill in the right information."

How is "Hotel" an available option? I have repeatedly messaged back to say this isn't even an option for me, but this person keeps insisting it is and it's available for me to choose but it's not, I am just tired. My apologies. Send a new follow-up and clarify that they are referring to the short-stay Schengen VIDEX form, not the opportunity card VIDEX form.

In the Schengen one, you can select a hotel as a reference.

I have never applied for a German short stay visa, so I had no idea this was even possible, for the longest time, I thought I was blind, but now I see what she's referring to. I sincerely hope they make the right decision as this is embarrasing.

I have questions on this reference thing cos it looks like its going to be the next problem/hurdle.

What is the right option to pick. Is it a reference over in Germany

If you picked an organization, what should be the right one? Is it where you work? Or what is even the best thing to pick?

Remember that even if you picked an organization/educational establishment, they ask you to put the name and information of the contact person.

What contact person should be filled? HR or what?

Can someone who's scaled this stage give a thorough explanation on it

So I did some digging online and looks like you should just book a hotel for this purpose and use the address. It worked for someone on the link below.
