larride:I've never denied it came at sacrifice, but what they needed to get it done could be raised within their yearly income, and that's my point. |

Theflint1:You referenced 2006ish. I focused on that period. I can't speak for the 80's or times past. The document publicly available - which I shared here - only shows from 1998. Doing another job alongside your government work has been frowned upon since forever, but it has never stopped government workers from those selling melon, clothes, jewelries, land, private medical practice and even ghosting totally.I have given you the numbers and the links. I have shown you how the meal allowance per annum was #10,800 per annum in 2006 for CMDs. Again, it's on page 82 in that link. Stop hopping across different time periods like a mudskipper in the same argument. Doctors earned better than other civil servants on average, but not enough to have funded forays for their kids into schooling abroad in 2006ish. Not with the forex rate weight against annual salaries. I agree. Mr Faruk was dealing in scorpion venom and 'mercury' from grandfather clocks, too. |

I also agree that Wike's father owned companies which he inherited like he boasted on live television which explains why he can purchase mansions from Omoku to Florida. A Yahoo Boy record label owner with 4 signees who have less than 100,000 listens on Spotify and 26,000 Youtube views performing at university departmental nights can afford to buy houses in Banana Island, fund Nollywood actresses, and splash on cars. Maybe he sells Habanero pepper on the side to celebrities, and we don't know. We keep trying to explain away what is obvious. |

DissTroy:In 2011, a CMD would have been earning around 7.5M per year from private and personal practice, which would come to around 50K USD. From that money he'd have been able to sustain two kids in the higher institution in many parts of Europe, and some parts of the USA. School fees for both kids 12K per year Living expenses for both kids 18K per year (flight was typically twice, once at the beginning of their program, and another at the end of their 4 year program, so that's miscellaneous). The CMD would have still had 20K USD (about 3M then) to guide in Nigeria. Mr Faruk was accused of spending the equivalent of 300M per year on his children's school fees, while on a salary of 50M per year...there's no Math you want to solve that'd explain how he's able to do that through his salary. You could have criticized Mr Faruk for being corrupt and living way above his income without using it as an opportunity to resurrect an Akamu argument you made some time in the past, but alas ![]() |

DissTroy:You could have used these to butress your point on Mr Faruk, you didn't have to resurrect the CMD argument, it was a bad example. |

Since September 23rd when the entire world gathered to declare a fake nation,is rael has been winning, they just signed a $35bn gas deal with Egypt, defense contract with Germany , defense contract with UAE worth $2bn Nvidia building another large tech village etc.I know is not from their (Egypt)mind but who God don't bless no man can curse .If palliclowns like make them continue to chant meaningless slogan ,is rael will continue to strive 🤞. |

[quote author=BlueRayDick post=137841556]I don’t know the backstory to this video but if anybody tries this with me , out of me and him one person go Dey ground ! Dead body go surplus ! can't die over angry men on road. One thing I love doing is when somebody is pressuring me from behind unreasonably on expressway and not maintaining proper distance even when he can see the car Infront of me is impeding my speed, I will just move aside to the slow lane, let him pass, then go behind him and start flashing him incessantly till he gets mad. This usually happens with Audi drivers. I don't know whats wrong with people who drive Audi that they feel they must drive recklessly at full speed everywhere and not maintain proper distance. Once I see someone not maintaining proper braking distance behind me incessantly, I pull this trick on them |

Theflint1:Most of the figures you are using are wrong. Whether 2006 or 2011 no CMD could have sent 2 kids to the US or to Europe for university studies from his salary. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Ibime(m): 3:31am On Dec 19, 2025 |
MonsieurCoder:Na Cyprus university As of 2011, UK school fees was already £12k each minimum |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by afrodoc2: 3:33am On Dec 19, 2025 |
Theflint1: Today it might be difficult for most CMDs to do that, but around those 2006 Dem, which was one of the examples given, it was common to see fresh medical grads doing housmanship getting like 150K per month, and this came to around $1,000. I'm sure your CMD from that era would have been taking like 500K per month (plus allowances) that's around $3,000, his two months salary would comfortably pay for a semesters tuition, plus small upkeep money for a child in the UK, or other European countries. So that people could take their kids abroad less than two decades ago isn't automatically sign that they were corrupt or stealing from the government...these things were a lot easier to manage then.Lambastic lamba. Common ke? It was 60-90k and in most hospitals more likely to be closer to 60k than 90k. |

[quote author=BlueRayDick post=137841556]I don’t know the backstory to this video but if anybody tries this with me , out of me and him one person go Dey ground ! Dead body go surplus ! Brother This is my humble advice.... Abeg let such people go when you're in such situations I have noticed lately that there are a large number of people you see everyday, walking about with mental issues. They are one word or step away from displaying madness. You know the worst part? They have nothing that they are living for...If you kill them, nobody go cry. If dem kill you, nobody go still come bail them. If that guy had a gun, he would shoot the Lexus owner without blinking. Especially this Lagos, I no even dey follow anybody talk sef. Make all of us manage our madness internally |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 6:53am On Dec 19, 2025 |
afrodoc2:Don’t mind him . When he wakes now he will come here and tell u that that guy would not have tried throwing the stone if he knew the driver also had a gin as if we don’t see people in America do otherwise . And those ones no even get half craze wey Nigerians get sef . If that guy had a gun , he wouldn’t even waste time trying to force the door open to start with . He would’ve kpai the driver the very second the video started whether that one has a gun or not |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 7:01am On Dec 19, 2025 |
izzou:I understand u and naturally I act like a humble person who avoids trouble at all cost even when I’m provoked . However , there’s a limit to which one’s gentleness will last I mean the Lexus driver remained calm and didn’t give room for the guy on foot to escalate things but still he ended up throwing such a huge rock at the windscreen to over escalate the matter . I doubt the most humble person on this thread will be able to hold his anger at that point . It will take super extra divine intervention to hold ur anger at that point . Even for someone who has comprehensive insurance that covers that kind of malicious damage , u go still wan deal with the attacker make him body for tell am . |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by afrodoc2: 7:10am On Dec 19, 2025 |
BlueRayDick:Don't engage in physical altercation no matter what. People underestimate how easy it is to die or how easy it is to kill someone. The best you can do and the worst you should do is to show your Lexus ownership and lock him up. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 7:13am On Dec 19, 2025 |
afrodoc2:I totally agree that is the best course of action, but I sincerely doubt if most people can be patient enough to do that . This Lagos wey I Dey see road rage almost everyday , serious kata-kata will follow immediately that rock lands on the windshield |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 7:17am On Dec 19, 2025 |
afrodoc2:2011 was more my period of reference. Which of the figures are wrong, cause I simply lifted them from the proposed salaries for medical officers, and 2.5M was basic salary for a level 13 step 1 medical doctor. Assumption is plus allowances, that can get up to 3.6M...if you add private practice, we might have double that, up to 7.2. There were schools in Europe where semesters tuition is around $2,500 USD, less sef, very possible to sustain kids in those schools based off that salary. |

Theflint1:100k in 2008? You sure? |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 7:49am On Dec 19, 2025 |
izzou:Afrodoc said it could get up to 90K in 2006...UNIMAID paid higher than your typical federal institution (not sure exactly why again), but I'm pretty sure it cracked that 100K. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by afrodoc2: 7:52am On Dec 19, 2025 |
Theflint1:Lab science intern salary in Nigeria 2008: 60k to 100k with federal and state to state variation. Medical doctor house officer salary in Nigeria in 2008: 70k to 100k with federal and state to state variation. 150k house officer salary in 2006: Still Lambastic Lamba. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 8:00am On Dec 19, 2025 |
afrodoc2:That 150K was more around 2011/2012, and it typically started from like 120K, 150K was the higher band...I was mixing up salary eras on that ![]() |
